NO Longer "DONE" with the JR 9303

I am a "bipe guy". I also use programmable servos. But not having aileron trim flow to all four ailerons has driven me over the edge. Here's the problem... I don't want to "toss" all six of my JR/Spektrum 9 channel receivers....so the "newest" Futaba 10G 2.4system isn't a viable economic choice. NEITHER IS BUYING A JR 12X !!!

So.... what is the solution that will get me 9 channels usable, and able to keep the JR/Spektrum 2.4G receivers?

Am I asking for something that ain't out there???? HELP!!!!!!!!!!

SOLUTION Listen to those who know.... aworrest..... he had the RIGHT solution, and all's well. I hope my Python will forgive being operated with a Glider program....but it will DO THE JOB!!!!!!!!!

Can you explain a little more . Do I have this correct ? You wish to mix two separate channels togehter and have the trim input go to both ?

My JR 8103 does this now. I use mixing on my dual servo elevators and my alerons and the trim inputs go to both.

Do you wish to mix 4 channels together? One for each control surface on your bipe?)

Will Y connectors fed into 2 channels , mixed not do it?

Only two solutions which fit your criteria that I'm aware of Bob; Matchboxes or a PE....

Now my solution is one you mentioned as not being a consideration; the 12X, neat radio....[sm=thumbs_up.gif]

If your servos are programmable, why not just connect each pair of Ailerons with a Y harness and then use the Flapperon or Mate function to mix them?

Bob,

How about a 12FG with a $40.00 Spektrum module? if you sell the TM-14 module and receiver, you'll probably go down to about $500.00 for a 12FG.

It's an excelent radio.

Regards,
Doug.

I understand using the Spektrum module, there are only limited channels available, and it isn't clocking at the full speed frame rate as it is using the serial/trainer output buffer???

Ideally, you want adjust the Trim, on each of the 4 Ailerons, Independently, at the Tx? Is this correct?
You do not want to have to make these Trim Adjustments in the servo, using the Programmer or a Matchbox? Is this correct?

If you were to Mate Aileron with Aux2 and Flap with Aux3 and then use Flapperons to mix Ailerons with Flaps, would that work?

I have not tried this. Just asking what happens when you do this.

Aside from Biplanes, large Aerobatic planes have more than one Aileron servo per Aileron half. They would have a similar need to yours.

I know that some radios offer 4 Aileron programs.

Is replacing 2 aileron servos with one stronger servo an option?

I do not think 10CG has the servo grouping feature. Am I wrong?

RE: DONE with the JR 9303

Issue is one servo on two wings, top and bottom (or left and right) which need independent control of center and end points, yet "follow" the TRIM function of the flight control.

RE: DONE with the JR 9303

If the problem is to get four servos to follow the aileron stick and the trim, it can be done in the sailplane configuration. Simply inhibit AUX2 and AUX3. Then set up one Prog.MIX to mix AIL+ into AUX2 and another to mix AIL+ into AUX3.

It is easiest if you have separate flaps and not use flaperons. You can set up two more program mixes to have two of the ailerons have flaperon action. Have one mix FLAP into AUX2, and the other to mix FLAP into AUX3 but with rates opposite you used for the first FLAP mix.

OK Bob-I gotta ask:
Why?
Having done competition stuf with an aileron servo on each of four ailerons and one aileron servo per side with linked upper and lower ailerons AND one aileron driving all four (-really on foamies) I never found a problem - just lined em all up flew the plane readjusted the linkage as needed and - Bob's yer uncle.
I unnerstand you want to do the adjustment
I just don't see why it is needed or would really help..
PS I won't use adjustable servos either . Am I a fuddy duddy ?
yes. But I never have to try and remember W T F I did on some adjustment later on. If 'n the wings don't visually all appear to line up perfectly after all is assembled and trimmed - I bend/bust /heat/twist the S O B till it's all straight.

JUST POINTING OUT THE OVERLOOKED:

The trim is included in the mix if using P-mix 5 or P-mix 6

But frankly, I never needed it for my Double Vision bipe or a QQ Python.

Describe how to do this please. I've tried using both P MIX 5 and P MIX 6, then P MIX 1, using the #AIL and/or AIL into my "other aileron" (AUX 3), zero offset, POS 0, + and - 100% volume. Go to monitor, move aileron, AUX 3 follows the STICK, but **NOT** trim movement.

Tell me what I'm missing. Would be great to find!!

Don't know what a "PE" is, Zeeb.

Is there no solution to this issue, really ?????
[:'(][>:][:o]
Sorry 'bout that....

Power Expander.... Most of those offer travel setting adjustments like a Matchbox.

The sailplane deal may be worth looking into, but I've not seen anyone solve this issue using the programming alone in the X9303 but we don't get a lot of input from the sailplane guys that I've seen on the threads I visit at various forums.

I tried AWORREST's suggestion this evening, after a PM from him explained it in "plain language" (I am **NOT** a glider guy, and it may as well be a foreign language!!!!!!!)

At any rate..... LIFE IS GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Allan - you deserve some kind of medal.... or maybe a lunch....Can't thank you enough!!!!!!!!!!

Yer right - the x 9303 has NO inc trims in any discrete mixing - except as assigned on the flight function pages.
The 5 n 6 mixes are on the DX7 as I recall

RE: DONE with the JR 9303

Bob,

When you say that the trim is not carried into both AUX channels, either I'm not understanding what you want or your 9303 is different from mine. With both of my X9303 and XP9303 in the GLID configuration, mixing the AIL+ into the AUX channels will cause the aileron trim to mix into those channels. I have my X9303 in front of me. On the MONITOR as I move the aileron trim, LAIL, RAIL, AUX2, and AUX3 blips all move.

I agree with Dick. On the 9303 program mixes 5 and 6 don't include the trim.

If you are not a dyed in the wool JR pilot, you may want to consider the 12FG by Futaba. You can pick them up for about $750 right now and it will do everything you want. If you can make a good sale on your 9303 and receivers, you'll be all set.
