Hitec Eclipse w/ Spectrum Module (problems?)

Yes Dennis.....I had the orignal version of the Tracker.

I have the same problem

I have the exact same problem you described. Hot Spectra module, glitching, buzzing in the servos and mine will occasionally freeze all the servos. This is with the new QPCM RX. I am not happy and I am sending it to Hitec tomorrow. Did you ever find out what the problem was?

Spectra Temp.

Folks, I'm curious, does the module run 'hot' with the antenna collapsed per chance? I've found that my Spectra really doesn't like to be on too long with the antenna collapsed as it heats up significantly; raise the antenna and within a couple of minutes, the temp drops noticeably to the touch. Just a thought..............

Hitec Eclipse w/ Spectrum Module (problems?)

You should never have the module in and the xmitter on with the antenna collapsed, it's in your manual. It can damage your transmitter permenantly (some are more prone to it than others) When the antenna is collapsed the RF amplifier can't properly radiate the energy, so it doesn't, it converts it directly to heat

Hitec Eclipse w/ Spectrum Module (problems?)

hitec is a good brand but you could have saved money shopping at Servo Central

Hitec radios at servo central?

Th only thing I see on their website is servos and a couple accessories.

Antenna

So how are you supposed to do a range check with the Eclipse7 w/Spectra if you can't turn on the TX with the antenna down?

Hitec Eclipse w/ Spectrum Module (problems?)

You can have the antenna down for a couple minutes but if you leave it on for an extended period of time you can damage the output transistor.

Mike.

Same

I received my transmitter back from Hitec with an "All's Well."
Tested it on my new Hitec receivers.

Works great in my air conditioned house or in the evening in my garage.

Same old problem in the heat of the day (when I normally fly).

Sent it back to Hitec.

Mike, Whats up with this?

I just read the above and got an E-mail from gtalbot. I hope mine is fixed better than his.

Kevin
