Yeah, no big jumps but it's worth a look and run through. Also, it would be easy enough to create some big jumps with a shovel and about 30 minutes time. There is lots of dirt all over to use. The spot is not going to be developed, so there is no losing it. The location is easy and parking is too.

Ok, the location is big and close enough for us to try out. The pictures looks like mostly sand and grass, there's a lot of dirt too?

Its a mix of packed dirt and sand. The wide open area is mostly packed with some grass starting in. The terrain is a lot more rough and bumpy than these pics show. I wil be heading out there again in the next day or so to look over some more of the area. If your not too far you can meet up with me to scout some more here.

Nice ramp. I have the same one. Works really good when you place something under it in the back to get more lift for a bigger jump. I have some sick jump videos with the ramp on my youtube page.To find a dirt layout is quite impossible. At least for out here on long island. Everything is sand. There is no dirt at all. Is sand a big issue with the nitro? I have no problems at all with the sand. Im sure dirt is better though.

So do you think this sunday its gonna happen? And if. What time do you guys start? And I hope its a all day thing. Ill bring a cooler full of cold water and redbull. I might have a friend thats gonna come to if you guys dont mind. I figure more the merrier.

my engine shipped out today...just got the email. So Sunday ill deaf be ready. Sand. dirt, mud...doesnt matter to me...as long as i had fun getting my truck dirty, i dont mind cleaning it.
The sand getting in my engine was totally my fault...was running without the body and the air filter wasnt zip tied. [:@]

Thats good to hear. I dont know that much about nitro. But thats understandable. If you dont have your filter on tight. Sand will mess up the piston.

Thats what its all about. Having fun. Im trying to put together a group just like you guys. Long island bashers. Just gotta find people. There are so many places out here to bash. I was thinking of making flyers and leaving them at hobby stores. And if you guys want more people, I think you should do the same thing.

Yea, but i find the ramp so hard to line up with any speed! And isn't your sick spot mostly dirt? Looks like it in the videos. If you think dirt is hard to find out by you imagine here in the city! [:@]

I could imagine. Im pretty sure its sand.. Long island is made up of sand. There is no dirt like the main land. its not that hard to hit the ramp. Matters on how solid your steering is on your vehicle. I had my old emaxx where the steering sucked. Man, Took me 3 to 5 trys to hit it. With my new maxx and revo, No problem.

This week is turniong out to be hectic for me. Truck came today but I missed the delivery so I put it on hold so I could pick it up in the morning at the UPS building on Foster. Then I have to pack some stuff I sold on Ebay and get it ready to ship.
I'll need some time swapping the radio with a new 2.4/failsafe I bought for the truck, and then brake the engine in.

Joe, I think Thursday in the am sometime I'll head over and scope out some more of this site. Let me know if that works for you.

I work late and have off Thursday and Fridays. Sunday is good forbashing as I dont start work till 5 ish so anytime from bout 11-3 would be good for me then. Most all weekdays too in the morning till mid afternoon.

That ramp looks sweet, I think we can make something of this spot.

Lets try for a Thursday meet up at the spot. I'm a bus driver for NYCT and work on the Gerritsen ave line so I pass this place everyday....

My number is 917 414 0866

Sounds good, how early? We are going to run a little though right? Honestly, I don't wanna just scope it out, I wanna test drive! I'll bring this little video camera and tripod I have too so we can show everyone else how it is. Would you recommend sand paddle tires, dirt pin tires, or all all terrain tires? If anyone else can make it for a little your welcome to join. I live over the marine pkwy bridge in Rockaway so it should only take me like 10-15 to get there.

I like your enthusiasm! lol

I can't run though, just picked up my truck, looks sweet. Had to do a bunch of things today before heading into work so did not get to start it or set it up at all. Tomorrow I'll be gone the whole day so can't touch the truck then either. Thursday evening is when I'll be able to brak it in and set it up.
If your up for thursday about 11-2ish I'll meet you there just to hang and meet up and see how it goes. Otherwise Friday same time I should be ready to run with you.

As for tires, I'd say all terrains should be adequate. I'm looking to put on some Big Joes eventually.

Sorry, I don't think I can make it. My cousins who I barely get to see just asked me to come out and visit them Thursday and sleep over. It looks like you have already scouted it out pretty good from the pictures and I'm already convinced its a good spot. Unless those pics are a few years old and you don't know how it is now? Also, while looking for offroad bashing buddies once, some guy said to ask at Brooklyn Hobbies and that there was a few guys who bashed. According to Crank, that spot was where they went, so they might still run there.

I can still most likely make it out to anywhere on Sunday though. Can't wait to get a bunch of us together this weekend, seems most of you will just be getting in new stuff to try out or have been looking for people to bash with for a while (like me, bashing alone sucks [])
