RE: Charlottesville Racers Thread

Not to make you hate me.. but... he sent me a list of EVERYTHING we get with his plan. This is his PM to me..

ORIGINAL: From Chris, the one giving us the hosting plan..

He gets unlimited databases (and unlimited space for databases). So forums are absolutely no problem.

I told you you get unlimited email accounts. Autoresponders and forwarders included. Check mail by webmail or use an email program on your computer. (POP3)

He can get unlimited subdomains (absolutely not a problem). Parked domains or addon domains not a problem.

He said himself there's no domain name included, so he has to pay more a year. As for me, it's included.

He gets cPanel access. cPanel includes various scripts and Fantastico which has a bunch of software for Blogs (like WordPress, an excellent blog program), CMS (Content Management Systems), Forums (Includes phpBB or Invision Board [1.3 I believe])....

You are able to download a backup of your site in cPanel by clicking on Backup and just simply choose to download your directory. In case something does happen to the server, my server company might have a backup done for me. They don't make backups often, which is why you should do backups yourself, but they'll have them everyonce in awhile.'

PHP, Perl, and CGI support

I don't remember if there's a virus scanner in the email (there might be one already on the server itself). There is Spamblocker for email.

Unlimited FTP accounts.

On my onlyonemoe.com site, there's a forum for help. I'd have them email me at [email protected] for immediate support. Always free.

Frontpage extentions.

Webstats.

Custom Error Pages.

Apache Handlers

SSH/Shell Access

Redirects

Error Log

Cron Jobs

HotLink Protection (to prevent other sites loading your images all the time)

Agora Shopping Cart

Password Protect Directories

Lots of stuff, lol. I don't know how many pictures he's going to use for his gallery, but if there's alot or you keep adding more pics, i'd say good luck with 300MB. Really, you don't get alot for $25 a year. $15 a month is a darn good deal for what you get here.

That's cool Steven. I wanted to know the details and he uses the same administartion and general setup that I use now so it looks good.
It's an option.
