RE: 2006 Las Vegas RC Tracks & Events

Of course, I know the owners. I was on the telephone talking to him today about going over and taking photos. Regarding the locking of the other thread, I thought about the same thing but I wanted to let someone else suggest it openly first.

RE: 2006 Las Vegas RC Tracks & Events

Spooner,
I think you know them.... since that father/son team also raced electric at Finishline. The father is also named John. ;) And the other thread is already locked. For now, I am out of here--pet store, lunch, and perhaps to the new track. That John is going to call me if he heads that way--in about an hour. You have my number if you are interested in hitching along.

Thanks. It's just takes practice. There is also a driver's stand so you will be "elevated" above the RCs.

Sorry to write that I didn't take any photos of the new track. The owners simply want to wait until they are ready to release photos. However, I will write that the place is very nice, very clean, has a lot of room, and has lots of parking. The owners have some great plans for their place and if everything goes as planned, it very well may be one of the nicest tracks in the country and be able to hold some national events.

RE: 2006 Las Vegas RC Tracks & Events

hay TNB,

Would the Guys running Cutting Edge like someone to make them a professional website, since theirs isnt really designed overall for long term advertisement. Also, anyword if they will be holding nitro races since it is an indoor track. I do not have the money to get back into electric right now, and i am planning on getting a truggy next.

If they are interested in getting the site redone, please have them email me at [email protected] and so i can send them my number to talk with them. I wouldnt charge, just would need to get my Webdesign Companies name on more sites so we can get our business growing.

Tigger N. Bennie 01-07-2006 11:45 PM

RE: 2006 Las Vegas RC Tracks & Events

As far as I know, no indoor nitro. I'll pass on the webservice offer next time I speak to the owners.

RE: 2006 Las Vegas RC Tracks & Events

Welcome to the forums. When the new track opens, you may see quite a few people from California as well.

RE: 2006 Las Vegas RC Tracks & Events

Well I am really hoping we can get some information passed along soon. I am thinking about getting an electric truck to race here, but im really wondering if they are going to have there own hobby shop. If so, what brands will they support most. I'll probably go with a xxx-t mf2, since I have always driven Losi, and some parts are inter changeable with my xxx-nt ad2. I would probably want to see what other people are running first, see how good the crowds are, to decide if it is even going to be worth buying an Electric. Since we all know how expensive they are with speed controls, charges, motors, BATTERIES. To go Brushless or brushed.

RE: 2006 Las Vegas RC Tracks & Events

In the previous thread you mentioned they were going to run both electric onroad and offroad at Cutting Edge. Is that still true or not?

troybeer 01-14-2006 12:29 AM

RE: 2006 Las Vegas RC Tracks & Events

it is true. cutting-edge is over 15,000 sqft of off road and on road racing. its going to be one of the best racing facilities in the country.

Bigedmond 01-14-2006 03:06 AM

RE: 2006 Las Vegas RC Tracks & Events

Well i wish there was more information about the place coming then there is. Like will they have a hobby shop. Stuff i wish there website talked about, but there site doesnt really give any information.

Tigger N. Bennie 01-15-2006 12:10 AM

RE: 2006 Las Vegas RC Tracks & Events

Again, Cutting-Edge:
[ul][*] On-Road and Off-Road,[*] Brushed and Brushless,[*] Onsite Pro Shop,[*] NO monster trucks (i.e. E-Maxxes).
[/ul]
I can't confirm the specific brands that will be sold though the pro shop.

Bigedmond 01-15-2006 12:21 AM

RE: 2006 Las Vegas RC Tracks & Events

sweet deal.

Any chances they will let fellow rc racers come in when they are building the dirt track so we can help. RC Fever use to invite the racer to come in and help get the track ready to race on. Makes for good time to learn every area of the track, plus the track owners and the racers can spend more time together and form a friendship.

If they will allow the following, please i would love to know when cause i would really like to see how the layout of the building is, and how friendly the owners are before i drop some cash on a electric truck.

RE: 2006 Las Vegas RC Tracks & Events

i drove over there the other night just to see the building, and it looks nice. Hopefully they will carry: ae, losi, kyosho, and for people like me traxxas. those are all the electric companies i can think of

spooner 01-16-2006 10:02 AM

RE: 2006 Las Vegas RC Tracks & Events

Firefreak373 01-16-2006 11:42 AM

RE: 2006 Las Vegas RC Tracks & Events

spooner 01-16-2006 04:41 PM

I take it you have haven't checked the links on the Cutting Edge website. It may help provide some idea though I know it is not a firm list or even a list of what they will stock. From the sound of it, some of you guys want "another" Great Planes distributor in town. Myself, I'd rather have a "pro" shop that actually stocks parts for high quality RCs.

Firefreak373 01-17-2006 01:20 AM

RE: 2006 Las Vegas RC Tracks & Events

my question is its suposed to be a race shop but will he stock parts for gas cars, like ofna, kyosho, etc? cause of the electric track. define PRO RACE shop people profetionly race xtm and traxxas but most people dont consider them race or pro?

Tigger N. Bennie 01-17-2006 01:47 AM

RE: 2006 Las Vegas RC Tracks & Events

Myself, if I had a electric track--I would be carrying products geared toward electrics to help keep the inventory down as well as the costs. Perhaps, special orders on request. After all, why support Hobbico/Great Planes or Global if there is no need to. Heck, I can think of several LHS that refuse to order brand parts though they are listed as retailers--who knows, I may be able to get some specific parts for some RCs I already own. If you really want to know what they are going to carry and probably have support, go to the track when it opens and purchase an RC there, along with the option parts.
