Default vintage nitro car .19 engine leaking from crank front

I have a vintage Associated RC1 nitro RC car that I am trying to get running again. The engine is a Testors McCoy .19
The fuel tank has been cleaned. The engine has been cleaned as best I can without completely disassembling it

When I try to start the engine it leaks fuel from the front of the crankshaft. I can get it to turn over and the engine sputters but will not start.

Is it drawing air from the crank?

Any help is greatly appreciated
