sirio 15 in an R40
Inm about to purchase a sirio .15 with a rotary carb to use in my r40. I dont know much about nitro engines but I was told a that a rotary carb in a r40 is wrong. Why is that? Whats the difference between a rotar carb and a slide?

you will want the slide carb. It will provide a much better throttle response for that car. Do you plan on racing? If so - then you cannot use that engine.

No I dont plan on racing at any type of events. And I did some searches and found out the difference between the 2 carb styles and Im bettin I wouldnt even be able to notice the difference being that Im still a semi-newbie. A rotary carb will suit me just fine for now. Thanks for the help

Yo icy,
You should definetly get something like 3 port .12 even if you are not planning to race. That R40 was designed for racing not bashing. Being that it is designed for racing, it requires a slide carb rear exhaust engine. If you aren't racing at all, you should have just gotten the new HPI evo.
Get a shaft driven car and have fun. Your R40 is belt driven and is just looking for rocks and pebbles to pick up and ruin your day.

Well I prefer the slide carb myself. It tends to be a lot easier to set up. Can't say I notice any difference in performance since I only bash my ntc3.

I got the car as part of a trade that I made, I didnt buy and to be honest I dont really care for onroad cars but I did want to expeirience one first hand so I decided to keep it. Ill be running in parking lots so Im not too woried about rocks. Plus I got the sirio .15 for just under $100!! awesome deal!! I actually have the car for sale but since I found that engine and have some brand new xxxnt electronics I decided to keep it.
