There are several companies producing hopups for this car....

But the parts themselves seem to have vanished from the respective websites...

Aluminium & carbon fibre parts: - http://www.cmldistribution.co.uk

Sabbatini Performance & aluminium parts:- http://www.amerang-group.com

If you want me to list all the availible hop-up parts availible i'll try my best to remember them all, and reccomend the best ones.

Yeah...

Bought it 2'nd hand off a guy that worked with my dad. He got it free when he purchased a HUGE cabinet of "snap-on" tools (works in a garage). I paid £200 for it, some fuel, glow starter & charger and a load of rechargeable batteries. Wasn't a bad price really.

Then i spent a stupid amount of money on it, as you can see.

Wow, u guys got real bargains! £70 and £90 definately isn't bad.

At the time i thought £200 wasn't a bad price, it was pretty new and was in really good shape, even the bodyshell showed no signs of wear. I saw it running before i decided to buy it and it was fast! I thought my modified electric car was fast, but watching this thing just made me want to buy one!

I've posted what modifications i've made to the car loads of times, i'll find one of the threads and post a link. The list is too long to type again. I've probably spent another £500 in replacement parts and hopups on the car so far.

(EDIT) - List of hopups here:- http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_3813569/tm.htm

Oh yeah, i forgot to ask if any of you guys are melting brake disks?

I've just melted my fourth in 1/2 tank and i have no idea why it's doing it. Any suggestions?

It's really starting to p**s me off. I've had the entire rear assmebly apart countless times (i'm working on the damn thing now!) and i just can't figure it out. I'm moving on to the brake linkage (already checked the disc, pads, bulkhead, bearings, brake cam).

Me too, but my MGT is currently out of service with a busted tranny. So i decided to have a go with this thing again. I'm getting more tempted to sell it, but i'd ever get back the amount of money i've put into it.

Yeah, doesn't sound nearly as good as my MGT (if you've ever heard one running you'll understand why!) It's like a savage but more "metallic" sounding and LOUD!

...and i think i've solved the braking problem. I straigntened the brake lever - the part held in place by the grub screw. It seems to release much more AND clamp down better than when it was at an angle. Not exactly sure WHY it works better - it just does. I've "reconditioned" the melted disc, so hopefully it'll hold up tomorrow when i head to the reebok stadium to drive the thing.

If you look at the spur gear on the car (big thing with teeth right next to the engine) you should see a small black disc on the same shaft. This is the disk brake! It may have melted (surface appears polished) or the linkages may simply need adjusting. To adjust the braking use the small threaded black collet on the brake linkage. Turning it clockwise will increase braking and anticlockwise will reduce it (theoretically). You need a balance so that the brake can fully disengage when the throttle is applied (spur gear should turn easily) and apply fully when you apply the brakes (imposible to turn).

If you try this with no success then post some close-ups of the disc and linkages and i may be able to help more.

When i apply my brakes it just causes the engine to stall very easily (to the point where i now stop by going sideways), would adjusting the linkage stop this from happening or is that something its just designed to do?

That is probably due to the idle adjustment screw not being set properly. When you hit the brakes the spring on the throttle linkage pushes the carb lever so that it closes (to about 1mm) and reduces the engine revs. If the screw isn't adjusted properly it may close the carb fully - stalling the engine. Remove the air filter, and without the engine running operate the throttle. You should see the carb open and close. When you brake there should be the same gap in the carb as at idle - about 1mm. Use the idle adjustment screw to set the MINIMUM opening and the throttle linkage to ensure the same opening at idle and full brake.

If this doesn't work and the car still stalls when you brake there may be a problem with the clutch.
