My 100 mph run was with a 200mm lola body with the rear wing cut off. I tried a touring shell and it took off.

If you need any help on high speed runs drop by my site www.fast-rc.co.uk and we will help you out all we can

Cheers

Most definitely a Lola is best for a high speed run to keep the car more stable. Otherwise for regular racing touring shell all the way. Haven't been on this site in years!

ziggy, for your 3 motor car, howd you fuse the bodies? melted them, or was it custom made?

Ferrari - I've been good - just on the other forums mainly in the onroad section. I recently got back into 8th buggy and now race that class being the track is much closer and involves less money spent traveling. Floyd Bennett field lost their drivers stand thanks to the nasty park officials there. They will be working on getting a portable drivers stand though that will be a hassle to bring to the track all the time.

You can get lexan glue. I overlapped them and then glued them. I also used some really fine glass matting ond painted on the lexan glue. It set like steel and worked great.

For the new design I am looking for a custom shell

Cheers

I'd seen somewhere in the internet some guys that used a vacum cleaner to press preheated lexan on a custom form in order to get shape...

Yeah I have seen that but you need to heat the lexan in the oven and the wife would kill me. Its exactly the same process as they use for commercial shells

Cheers

Not sure. I think the other club who uses our spot when we aren't there want to claim the land. As of right now there are no races at Floyd - just practice with no stand.

So what is the status in miami and drag racing....where are people going now to do so? Is it still worth it to build a Super RS4 for dragging or is there a better model out there right now. I am new to drag racing RC and want to get into it...i have a project car that im building now from scratch out of left over pieces but i dont expect much out of it other than just wanting to learn the basics and understanding what could make a car fast. Iknow they sell promod and etc kits but personally im the type of person who likes to get the impossible and make it possible it gives me more pleasure even if it cost more.

See you guys around.

looking at your car. I think it would be verry coll to mount the intake pipe facing foward with a trumpet, youl get a boost in air going into your engine, but dont over do it or it will just cause drag

OK

Engine and drive train

Novarossi 35PLUS21 engine
RMV clutch
Mugen CLutch Bell
HPI 19/23 1st and 2nd pinion
Evolva 48/44 Spurs
Evolva one way with bearing reversed
HPC Mod 1 delrin reduction gears 28/36
HPC 1/1 bevel gear
Solid front axle to Kyosho 65x30mm 45 shore foams
26t 3mm pitch 6mm pulley driving 6mm heac=vy duty timing belt 884t
Rear wheel 28t3mm pitch 6mm wide pulley driven from front on one way bearing
Rear 65mmx30mm 45 shore foam
Rear steering

Radio gear
Futaba 351brushless servos
Futaba FASST 2.4 Ghz system
5 cell rx pack (might change to LiPo)

Kyosho Evolva SP brake pads
Kyosho Inferno GT Brake shoe

Fuel tank from Xray NT 18 (33cl give 45 seconds run time)

Home made bulk head from 4,5 and 6mm 7075 T6 Aluminium
Home made side braces from 2.5mm CF

Mercedes CLK 1/8th body shell with middle 120mm removed

The concept is no suspension and 3 wheel drive. The rear rotates at 90% of the front and sits on a one way bearing. As the car accelerates the fronts slip and the back takes over. As the car gets up to speed the fronts start to pull and the rear wheel idles on the one way

The rear fins help with high speed stability.

Testing tomorrow
