RE: MTX Ownwers Check in!
I'm not sure if i'll go with cvd's since thats what it came with up front, or if i should switch it out to dogbones. I don't have the original parts as far as dog bones go so thats hte only dillema, i am currently running a .12 Nova Mega thats been ported and polished. I can post some pictures of that if it interests you.

RE: MTX Ownwers Check in!
Here are a few pics of it, the grey in it is a patch (jb weld) do to the previous owner doing the wrong porting on it.
The pipe that is on it i really don't like, and i have to do some tuning and maybe changing out the carb to a different one. I'll just have to think about that one. Let me know what you think of the engine. It has pretty good compression for being used, and it really loves to run minus my cvd getting screwed up the other day i would have really opened it up.

Hmm, sounds like the "R" version is pretty good.
I'm hoping to get my MTX-3 out on the track next year. Just need to fix the front cvd's issue, which i could do at the moment with a pin, but i'm thinking the previous owner didn't use the right ones for the MTX-3. I'm just doing little things for now than during winter will be break down and fixing everything that needs it, as well as the Schumacher LCG Fusion 21 i'm working on.

I've done the same to the 18ss engine...you can't imagine what a stock engine can do after porting..it SCREAMS!!! I believe that it's responce is close enough to a tz's.

RE: MTX Ownwers Check in!
Thats very true about how a stock engine can scream after a porting job. I'm thinking i'm going to fix the MTX-3 whiel its still nice out and do some hot laps/runs with it and see what i can pull with that engine, sad thing is it can still spin those tires. Can't wait to get my Schumacher decks i designed, should be pretty cool in reality.

Yes, i did design my own upper deck, and a lower deck to work with it. It'll be a unique design, but the machine work is left to be done. If it works out right, i may start designing parts for the MTX-3 if there is a area that needs to be improved. I lowered the CG of the Schumacher to a extreme amount.

RE: MTX Ownwers Check in!
There will definitely be pics of it. I told the guy i'm having machine it anytime will work as long as its done by when it starts warming up. It'll be a unique conversion on it. I'm looking at the Mugen but i'm not really seeing anything at the moment that needs to be as modded as the Fusion needed. I still have to place the receiver and battery pack on the Fusion, but i'll wait til i get the decks back. Anything you think should be designed for the MTX-3?

RE: MTX Ownwers Check in!
Haha, i'm not mean, and i just have connections and software to design things with. I will tell you one thing, placing 43 holes that have to be precisely located gets old after the first ten. Next chassis will be the Mugens, at least thats what i'm thinking. I'm going to college to be a engineer so this is a small development/test phase for me. My Mugen MTX-3 is back to being roadworthy, after taking the right front suspension apart to get to the CVD, i found a spare pin and put it in, time to go get some bearing spacers so it doesn't happen again. What else should i design for the MTX besides a strong but light chassis?
I just got the MTX-3 out and on the road, it hauls like no other, once i got the engine tuned, but a few blown glow plugs sent me home, and the Fusions RX battery died so it ended the fun as well. All i have to say is its sad when a .12 is making 1/8th scale tires spin all the way up to max speed. I got to get a new tuned pipe, cvd's, and glow plugs so far. And maybe some rear upper control arm links.
