Get the RS4 EVO+. Ntc3 is a bit old model. EVO has a significantly stronger engine and it's definately more durable. Ntc3 allows camber adjustments and toe adjustments at any angle while RS4 series allows camber adjustment at all angles and toe adjustment at prefixed angles by changing specific parts. But Ntc3's major problem is that it uses plastic differential gears...RS4 uses cut-metal gears. Finally RS4 has a lot more modifiying and hop-up potential than Ntc3.

id have to say NTC3, ive got a Factory Team NTC3 and the Stock AE15 is a great motor with the carb restrictor removed, plenty of power.

I know have a RB 12 motor in it and it rockets, compared to my mates RS4 its alot lighter and handles significantly better. BTW nothing wrong with the plastic ball diffs, they can take ALOT of punishment, they haev taken the punishment of a RB .21 xenon that a member custom fit. For a while anyway LOL

Im yet to strip a stock diff, while my mate has stripped 2 ring and pinions on his RS4

We have both, although the RS4 is the older 18SS model. I've heard the NTC3 is better for racing and the RS4 better for bashing. I tend to believe this. The RS4 has muich heavier (i.e. stronger) looking parts, so I would assume it's tougher. The NTC3 is definately faster and the engine is very nice to tune and works well. The RTR version of the NTC3 doesnt' give you gear options unless you buy the factory CB which had removable gears. The factory team kit might be a wiser choice. All this doesn't answer your question, but I hope it helps.

no i dont agree. go with the rs4 because it is stronger and more durable. another reason is that the car is easy to hop up.

Trini4life....you don't agree? What don't you ageree with? I said I see the RS4 as "tougher" You said "stronger and more durable". So where do we dissagree?

Unless you think I am recommending the NTC3 kit? Nope, not at all. What I was recommending, was the NTC3 kit over the NTC3 RTR.

My only recommendation over the RS4 vs the NTC3 is that the HPI may hold up better for bashing, and the NTC3 might have an edge in racing.

BUT, pure speculation.....I don't race.

That would be my old NTC3 with the big block .21 Xenon motor in it and YES the stock plastic differentials broke over time though. The big block with the bigger wide tires took alot of toll on the gears and stripped them. The car was an absolute animal to drive. It handled very well for that bigger motor on it as well.

Take a look at the Ofna CD3 as well since it has a center drive transmission and STEEL GEARS for the differentials front and rear. I have since sold my NTC3 for the Ofna CD3 and have not broken a steel gearset yet.

Here's my NTC3 with the .21 Xenon R on it for reference.

LOL. Yeah I miss the car but with the Ofna CD3 having the upgraded steel gears, that was a HUGE plus right off the bat for me. No more gear worries. The best price for the CD3 is from nitrohouse.com for $289 RTR. Don't get me wrong, the NTC3 is a good car but is outdated without having at least upgraded steel gears.

Here's my new CD3. No vids of it just yet.

Stock Ntc3 and stock EVO+, both wearing foams -> Evo moves faster on track than the Ntc3 and that's not my imagination, I've seen it happening several times at my local track. Check my vids at youtube if you like...it's the 18ss modified. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ghsfHt28g0

Brent I think I may have to subscribe to your you tube vids...i'm curious as to what the CD3 can do..

GYNAIKAS , I have seen that video before, but after doing some reading i think i may have to go with a CD3 for some speed runs, mabey an rs4 rally conversion due to the strength..the tc3 may have lost out on this one for me

No problem but I will add that the CD3 is WAAAAYYY more predicatable than the NTC3 was. The NTC3 had torque steer at times that was controllable but unpredictable as well. The CD3 runs very hard without torque steer being an issue and handles great. I am in the process of modifying the new Stratus body right now as well as getting new wheel/tires and then get some vids of it.

Let me know if you get one and need any information about the car. I am just so surprised that the Ofna CD3 isn't a front runner car like the NTC3 was but it did come out YEARS after the NTC3 too though.
