Default hpi rs4 evo engine help! and driving setup

hi,

i have a hpi rs4 evo and i went for a run with my mates. after a while it stalled. the engine started but each time i touch the controller trigger it stalls, when i start it it starts from slow to high rpm all by its self
and if i engage the throttle it stops.
i removed the engine and looked at the clutch etc but nothing wrong apart from dirt on the clutch. i brought a racing clutch. it also takes ages to start.

no u can keep ur same pipe and jsut buy the 12 dollar header so u can use it wit hthe pipe u have now............ if u dont have the extra to spend on the TZ the OS 18 TVRX will be the best choice over those HPI motors...........ive had all 4 motors and trust me the HPI small blocks suck

Well the 18ss has proven itself faster than the CV-RX several times...especially after the modification...! Also it revs significantly more... But it's discontinued so I recomend the LRP z18s.

i had the 18SS motor when they first came out about 3-4 year ago, i had the version with the purple head that u could only get if i bought it NIB not from a RTR kit, yes ur right it did rev more than the 18CVRX but with the OS 18 i was able to gear much MUCH higher so i made up for lack of revs with gearing and it flew, i had both motors stock not modded

BUT I HATED THE STUPID SMALL HEX HEAD IDLE SCREW ON THW 18SS MOTOR WHAT A PAIN IN MY ASS IT WAS!!!!!

First mount the engine and adjust te height with the spacers. Rear should be 1mm higher than front.

RD logics turbo OUTLAW pipe is a few good choice,

ive tuned alot of cars with the THS pipes and even tho they make some power over the RD logics i wouldnt cosider them TUNED since ive always felt the dont have the right backpresure and lean the motors out, u might think its performing good but ur engine is screaming HELP ME HELP ME

You should get spacers. They cost almost nothing.

Yeah, get some or make your own. They just clip right on the shock above the spring to compress spring lightly to set ride height. In a pinch, use zip ties. Just use the medium large ones that are about 4mm wide, zip it on around shock above spring and cutoff extra. Plus, you can get them in almost any color to match your color theme. Springs should be ok, run it and see how it goes!

Zip ties are not good for that. Get spacers cause you have to be more precice with your suspenssion setup than you think...

Dont do it...get the spacers. The chasis height from theground for track setting is 5mm front and 6mm rear.
