Just finished pulling her apart, swapping out some worn parts, cleaning, and reassembling... I'm going to have to remount the tires today (the foams came apart and I have flat spots in my new tires [:@]), but after that she's ready for action. Now I just need the free time... Oh yeah, it's an RS4 3 Evo with an OS .18 CV-R and some other shenanigans on it.

Air filter element is off for cleaning, by the way.

Woooooo stock M3 body.

Oh man, that's the worst question in any hobby like this. I don't even want to think about how much money has gone into this thing!

So I just spent the last half hour boiling tires, thankfully I started with my worn out stockers as practice. How is one supposed to pry the tires off the wheels? Soaking the rim/tires in boiling water for a minute or so loosened the glue, but I ended up having to cut through the tires themselves to remove them. There's still rubber left in the inner tire bead that refuses to come off. There's no way I'm going to cut through my brand new V-grooves...

Any tips?

Yea he does. We IGT guys really keep our cars clean. By theway man, how that Picco treating you? I wish I would've gotten an IGT2. This engine swap thing is becoming a bit of a PITA. Also, are you still using the stock IGT 2-speed?

I'll answer my own question about the tires for anyone following in the future: the key is the boil time. I was scared of the wheels warping, but after reading testimonials and gaining confidence, I boiled the wheel/tires for 15 minutes on each side and was able to break the tires loose with my fingers, with very little/no damage to the tires. I think the inner foams can be salvaged as well, though I had new ones for good measure. The combination of boiling water and repeated prying with my fingers left me with some nice blisters and sore fingertips... I can't feel the keyboard as I type haha. Pretty happy to have perfect tires though.

But, on a better note she's ready to go! New glow plug, air filter cleaned and oiled, carb setup nicely, receiver battery fully-charged, glow igniter ready to go... still lack the time and space in downtown Boston to run her around.

This was also a topic in another forum and below was the results:

#1 - Boiling the tires for about 20-30 Min
#2 - Baking them in the oven, Preheat oven @ 350 then turn it off and put tires in for about 15 min (my preference because there is no scalding water
#3 - Find a large container, put acetone in it and suspend the rims above the liquid.
Let the vapors attach the CA. This takes a while but very little effort.
Put the tires into a box, and cover the bottom edges with acetone, then seal it and leave it overnight.
In the morning turn the wheels over and leave until that evening.
I'd recommend you check first with a little acetone on the rim to see if it damages it or not.

Good Luck
Weiser
