RE: The best 1/8 scale car
Pure bashing at 1/8....with the 2-speed upgrade = Ofna GTP.
Also...PRP XR/80...or PRP Katana (beefier, more ground clearance) |
RE: The best 1/8 scale car
the ofna GTP looks like a 1/8th scale buggy with on-road setup. If it is for bashing it looks like a durable one...i think. To me it doesn't seem to be really good in performance compared to werpent and mugen

RE: The best 1/8 scale car
Huh... but i need something smaller this ofna is big like a Tornado i want hmmm 1/8 but not soo big you now not 70cm only about max 50cm :)

RE: The best 1/8 scale car
The tornado is 1:10 unless you're talking about the street lightening which is 1:7?
|
RE: The best 1/8 scale car
1/8th for racing or parking lots/street fun?
|
RE: The best 1/8 scale car
For parking almost.. sorry it was my mistake tornado is 1:10. Can i put on it something like sirio 27 with no problems? And do you guys now something beeter than this tornado but cheaper than cars like serpent 835, 950/r, mrx-3, mrx-4, evola etc?

RE: The best 1/8 scale car
Power Racing Products XR80 or whatever it is. The RTR one.
|
RE: The best 1/8 scale car
Wow :) Nice price and very nice car. It will be the best choice I think. THX GUYS:)
|
RE: The best 1/8 scale car
No problem man. Take care of it though. Something at those speeds could become lethal.
|
RE: The best 1/8 scale car
Price for parts for XR8 are vey low:) What about tires? How long can i ride on one pair of tires? I don't think that foam tires will be good becouse they are for about one hour of fun? This is true?

RE: The best 1/8 scale car
Sounds about right, but depends on how hard the compund is. Soft and sticky goes quickly, hard lasts, but doesn't offer as much traction. I haven't seen rubber available for 8th scale. The fact is, these are race cars, often refered to as the "Formula One" of RC racing...they are not as "efficient" to operate as 10th scale. There's a couple places you can get them, most are about $20 a pair, some of the Jacos we run can cost almost $30 a pair for the rears.

RE: The best 1/8 scale car
[:'(] It's sounds not good. I must think about it alot.
|
RE: The best 1/8 scale car
Yup, like I said, 8th scale is not cheap. However, it's only about 20% more expensive after the initial cost, not a big deal. I'll probably replace my wheels a little less than once a month. Not bad considering how often I run the car...
|
RE: The best 1/8 scale car
Soo how many hours can I ride on this foams tires?
|
RE: The best 1/8 scale car
That depends on what type of compound you are using and your driving style...
|
RE: The best 1/8 scale car
Ok hmm but usually how long can i ride on one set of foams tires USUALLY:D ?
|
RE: The best 1/8 scale car
[link=http://www.gqproduct.com/products.htm]Look here. [/link]I read that these tires have goog lasting time for money spent.
And price suppose to be $18 for front and $17 for rear. |
RE: The best 1/8 scale car
I'm running 3 classes of car, 10th scale nitro, 10th scale electric, and 8th scale. The R40, burns up rears about every 3-5 races, and fronts last a couple months. The pro 4 will go a few months on a full set, very even wear. The 8th scale eats tires all the way around, but I've been running very soft compounds, and I'm new to the car, so I chew up the tires figuring out how it handles. Tire wear is based on compund hardness, driving style, track conditions, car type, suspension settings, the balance of down force on the body, and a number of other things. So, it is nearly impossible to give you an acurate estimate of how long foams will last. As you can see, based on my pro 4, they last months, on my 8th scale, so far at least, they last weeks...

RE: The best 1/8 scale car
I got a hot bodies tornado and I love the thing, first break today on the 2-speed. I am thinkin of puttin a SH .28 with 3-speed in it with some real customization on the chassy. It will fly. Just do somethin like that if you want something really powerful and like a hot bodies tornado but better.
See Ya, Sam P.S. check out my forum for more info on the SH .28 in the hot bodies tornado it is called SH .28 in hot bodies tornado[>:] [img][/img] |
