Default RC in technical theater...

(This is reposted from the receivers/transmitters forum at their suggestion.)

Hi, guys. I'm a student involved with technical theater, and we're hoping to integrate remote-controlled set pieces into the show we're currently putting on. I've been tasked with the job of working out the system, and while I have some of it down, my RC experience is *non-existent* and therefore, I'm a little bit at a loss. Effectively, I need to work out how to wire an RC receiver such that its output can control a DC motor, and specifically so that it can move the motor bidirectionally. Any advice on where to start/what to buy/where to look would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
