Reciever question

Why is it that the reciever is powered.
I have a ten amp speed control plugged into a hitek reciever, the speed control is wired to two 12 volt 50 amp hour batteries in parralel. I do not have the six volts going to the power input to the rc reciever, just chanel 1 and 2 wires of the motor speed controller. But the reciever works fine, it must be getting power from the red and black from the speed control chanel inputs I guess.

RE: Reciever question

it is, the ESC unit has its own built in "BEC" circuit (battery eliminating circuit) so the ESC takes a small amount of the power fed it, and works from that, in an application where you don' have an ESC you can use a seperate BEC unit, or a "reciever pack" to power the servos....
