It isn't, per se, but if I drill a hole in the throttle lever, and find a safe spot away from the boiler to mount a small servo, I can put the ESC and a small battery pack in a small tender or boxcar, to be towed directly behind the engine.

Mike, may want to make sure your using waterproof electronics. Guessing you'll be slinging moisture around with the live steam in various forms. Cool looking steamer for sure!

I can't remember how I uploaded to Vimeo the last time, still working on it
Thanks, monster, I got lucky, a family was cleaning out their house prior to moving, and they had the jeep and trailer, and a bunch of gold pan RC's. The RC's, they knew were valuable, and were in negotiations with another customer, when I walked up to them and offered $5, and was surprised when they took it.

Not yet, I think it'll be a winter project, and although other guys have put the electronics inside the cab, which is tight, I'll find a spot for the throttle servo, but I think I'll put the battery and the receiver in a car behind the engine, because it does get hot in the cab. Still chatting with some friends on the RR forums to see what's going to work best.

The layout isn't perfectly level, there are some dips and rises, and on the rises is where it slows down, steam builds, and it takes off again. installing a servo on the throttle will even that out with a little practice. Definitely need a headlight, but the frame has to be made out of metal, as it will mount to the front of the smokebox.

Hello all ! Every day, I come on my desktop after work, and I go through the numerous forums I'm on to see what's new, questions that I can answer whether they're directed at me or to someone else, if it's a subject that I can add to, I will. When I check this thread, the number of views sometimes increases drastically, which tells me folks are looking to see what I did so they can apply or not make the same mistakes I did, to their projects. Either way, you guys and gals need to start your own build threads to show the rest of us your builds, no matter the scale.

Hey guys. I am an RC scale airplane nut and I am currently finishing a Yellow Aircraft P-38. I would love to find somebody who would sell me a bone stock RC conversion of a !/6 scale Hasbro Willys jeep. I don't want the lift kit and big tires, just the stock version. I would use it to tow my P-38 about 400' down to my flying field. I think that would be super cool. Since my thing is RC planes, I don't really have the time to build one myself. If anybody has such a thing or would be willing to build one, I would love to hear from you.
