Default i got mail

Just got'em. micky tompson baja claws 1.9. the right amount of side wall height for the little bit of lift on the honcho.

I've had the rims since xmas. my g/f got me them. she is awesome.
i'm putting them on today to try them in the snow.
I think i'm gonna add some weight to the rims.

Sick! I love those tires! I would think they may load up in the snow however...

Yeah they did load up with snow but they did a lot better than the ripsaws just because it has more side wall. i can't wait til spring!
i'm going to use the ripsaws for winter tires gonna make some chains for them.

Let the tires get cold (air temp) before you play in the snow, they won't load up as much.

got something cool today. i was playing in some mud a few days ago and a lot of smoke started coming from my honcho. took off the body and looked around esc seemed ok a little warm but ok. then i touched the motor and OUCH it was screaming hot. i let it cool down and ran it again but it didn't run like before so i jumped on my computer made a few clicks and this is what the mail man brought me today. i'm stoked can't wait to get it in and try it out.

Nice. R ugoing from the stock 27 to that 35? Ull probably want to change the hearing so u don't lose so much wheel speed.

So i'm guessing you meant gearing. yes they need changed. so can i do it with the spur again or should i go with axle gears. i've noticed it has lost wheel speed. need to get that back. if i go the axle gear route what ratio would bring me back close to stock?

Got some thing for the ascender today. the proline faultline 1.9 rims

oops pic is upside down. any way looking for some tire suggestions now. need a large mud tire. bigger than the stock swampers but still in the 1.9 size.
i was looking for the tire specs for the ascender but cant find it.i already have the claws so i'm looking at the super swamper xl's. i think the tires are the first kind of swampers than come stock so the xl should be bigger.

The mail man stopped by today and handed me something kinda cool.

so i ran in and tossed them on the fault line rims. they are the super swamper XL's same tires as stock but a bit taller and wider.
sweet.

Sweet the mail man came over today and left two things behind.
something to beef up the front of the honcho.

and a awesome warn winch for the ascender.
some modding to the bumper and just enuff room to fit. i think it worked out ok.

i put the factory bumper winch hole cover piece back in so there isn't a hole in the bumper below the winch.

Some more cool things showed up today.
some new axles for the honcho.

saved up just enuff for a piece for the creeper.

4 channel spectrum. not top of the line but should work for what i want.
all i need is a ESC and getting some servo mounts done. then i'll be creeping.

Sounds good, I'll have to check it out. A couple years ago a buddy of mine trashed his T-Maxx and between work and starting up a new business, he didn't have time for the rebuild, so he gave it to me with a bunch of extra parts in a recycling bin. I still haven't done anything with the T-Maxx parts, ( it was all disassembled), but at the bottom of the bin was an HPI nitro drift car with a seized motor and AM radio. I took the nitro motor off, and am working on making it electric, and am going to go 2.4, so I've been pricing TX and RX packages. I could probably just buy a receiver and link it to one of my current transmitters, but if I set it up as a rally car to race with my SC trucks, I'll need it.

sweet a box of rc stuff is always cool. a drift car would be nice. i was thinking about a rally car because you can use it for drift to. with a bit different setup.
yeah for the price the DX4c wasn't bad. i needed a 4 channel any way and they are a good brand.

My mail man dropped off a few things the other day.
got the new battery for the honcho.

and the last two things came in that i needed to get the creeper running.

i'm kinda excited to get to run the creeper. i got it used so it only came with a motor. it was assembled but there was a few things that needed some work.
i have done a lot of research on this crawler and have heard the pros and cons about it. sucks that it's not in production any more so parts are almost impossible to find but the ones i do find i'm grabbing. just hope the diff's don't give out on me and the diff lock servo's are going to be a pain to get working right but now the fun can start for the creeper.

Got some things to continue to RC madness.
something for the honcho front axle.

a cool FS GT3b tx/rx.

and i needed to get this because the creeper has 1.3 hex bolts and no where around here had one that small.

so i guess it's time to hit the work bench. sweet.

Sweeeeeeeeeet!, I've yet to put beef tubes in any of my trucks. I don't comp, and I'm not hard on my stuff, but I'm still using a brushed motor and Nimh packs, so there's not a lot of wheel speed there either.
