Default A Clod Crawler "The WIDDLER" As Seen On TV!

Well here it is...... "THE WIDDLER"

My thinking when building this Rig was really focused on Three things: High Clearance, Low COG, and...... "The Stick"( It's the Machine to Beat Right?). While thinking about the "Stick" I concluded that one of it's strongest points is it's Inherent Narrowness(giving it even less to get hung up on), so I did every thing I could to keep "The Widdler" Narrow and ended up with 2 1/2" for a Chassis width(just enough to fit the ESC and Receiver between the Chassis rails). The COG ended up Awesome, it will sit on it's Side 90*(Two Wheels) without falling over on it's lid, even with a 14 Volt setup(Two Large Batterys strapped on top of the links). Clearance is Pretty good at 6 inches(under the Skid Plate), and I figured out that I could get way more clearance from the rear motor by making the Rear-Upper Links a Hair longer (With a Small sacrifice in Steering of course  ). It Seems to be pretty Darn Tough so far, it's been through a little torture!

Some Specs

16" wheelbase

15" wheeltrack(outside tire)

7 3/4" overall height(top of Shock Mounts)

6" underbelly/skidplate

8 1/2" chassis length

2 1/2" chassis width

*Chassis Construction:

Aluminum Stock- 1/8" x 3/4"x 3/4 L Angle(Main Chassis Rails), 1/8" x 1" Flat(Shock Towers), 1/4" x 049 Round Tubing(Links and Chassis Braces).

Steel ALLTHREAD- 6-32, 4-40

Nuts & Bolts- 6-32, 4-40

Traxxas Rod ends Package #1942(one package is just right for 1 Complete Chassis)

Duratrax Body Mounts

**Running Gear:

Clod Axles w/JB Welded Diffs

G-Made Upper Link Mounts(NICE!)

55T Lathe Motors 13/10 Pinions

2 1/4" Shocks x4

HiTec 645 servos with custom 1/8" Aluminum Servo Mounts & Kimbrough Savers x2

Aluminum Front Hubs

1" Narrowed(Off the Insides) Outback Wheels w/Siped Moabs 8 ounces of weight in each of the Front and 2 ounces in each of the Rear(Lead wire Glued to the Wheels with CA).
