Best car to start off with?

Having had a couple of different Clod configurations, I think that can be a great way to start. There are so many aftermarket options, and the design is so flexible you can literally modify or create anything you want. As far as other trucks, I can't comment (yet!) since I've gone in the Clod direction from the beginning. Whatever you decide, good luck and have fun!

I have both a TLT crawler and a CLOD crawler... honestly.. if you are looking for performance, go with a clod.. although TLT's are actually suprisingly capable a CLOD will still out perform it...
When modifying a CLOD.. ex. changing the wheelbase.. it is super simple because you just make longer links or move the mouting holes somewhere else.. you dont need to measure driveshaft lengths...
