Oh ok so the 1/18th is actually pretty small. The pics made it look much bigger! lol. I wouldnt be paying for either one if I got one.. My birthday is the 12th so my parents would be buying it . But, I'm thinking instead of buying one of these I'll just get parts to make my txt-1 crawl even better...

Thanks,

-Brandon

i have the sixth scale one and it's awesome. I put savage shocks on it, cut off the suspension stops and traded the belt in for metal gearing. I put my neice in a clothes basket and towed her around the yard with it. it's got great power for what it is. It also has a really good run time. I'm just babbling so if you have questions let me know.

that thing seriously has enough power to tow around a small child in basket? i'm impressed if so. still seems alot for a toygrade even though its 1/6th.

i was looking at their site and noticed that the 1/6th is digital proportional stearing and i'm wondering if this is also for the 1/18th?

The gears i used are just ones' i had laying around so no i don't have a part number. what i did was matched the small pulley on the motor with a gear then matched the big pulley with a gear but had to make a bushing to fit it on the shaft then i got lucky and had one to fill in the gap. I hope this makes sense. I find your own you could measure to the center of each shaft then take the pulleys to your hobby shop and find the closest you can find, subtract that from your measurment and get one to fill in the gap. I just put the center gear on a shaft with two spring clips to keep it from moving side to side then on the outside of the gear case i put two more spring clips. I think this all makes sense, if not please let me know. After putting the savage shocks on I have a little under 12" of travel on one wheel. My next step is to replace the blue trailing arms with something a little more flexible. The biggest problem i've found is that they don't use many screws. Most of the connections are pressed in and can be a pain to get out. anyhow, thanks for reading

I'm gonna get a tamiya max climber, but if this has okay performance compared to the mc, i'd rather get this, so how do they stack up.

I dont know if anyone can actually answer this, but the general thinking (or at least in my oppinion) is any hobby level RC should or will most likely out perform a non-hobby level RC. Again this might not be the case, because this crawler seems to be the new rage.

I wonder if this would turn out to be anything like what's happening with the wal-mart car.

Thats nice, but my problem with it is its 9.6v instead of the standard 7.2v. You have to buy all new special battery packs for that

True. But my e-maxx's batteries last for half an hour as well (dual 3000mAh venom racing packs).

in the other features lower on the page it says its 19.2volt, which i know they are now selling in rc cars. on of them is a typo and i bet its the 9.6volt.

If your gonna get serious about rock crawling, get a clod or a txt-1, I think theres one of each for sale on here. They both have pretty strong aftermarket rock crawling support, and can do amazing things the nylint will never be able to do... In the end its still just a kids toy (unless your into custom fab) with no aftermarket and probably no parts replacement available and only mediocre capabilities.

I know some people were talking about paint schemes earlier, so I thought I'd post some pics of what I did. I just used paint that I had left over in my garage, because this isnt polycarbonate you dont have to use flexible paint. I used Rustoleum for the red and just some interior paint for the flat black. I know a lot of you out there dont think these have many aftermarket capabilities, but if you go over to the forums on www.rccrawler.com, you'll see some pretty amazing things that people have done with these. If anybody has questions that can't be answered here or on the crawler forums, please feel free to pm me. Happy crawling!

I tell you what guys I have a full modd TLT that I use in trail comps it got 92% on the ramp test and my kid can dang near go any were I can with the 1:6 crawler as I can with my modd TLT and I have 3 times as much money in my TLT as the 140.00 Nylint jeep..The other nice thing about the 1:6 is that it is 12 volt fully proportional were the 1/18 is not...

Hey guys, I bought two of these things. I've been into trucks both real and R/C for a long time and this thing is the most realistic and entertaining thing I've ever had. This is scale realism at its best. Weight, scale, CG, detail, steering, gearing, suspension, and tires make for an almost perfectly engineered truck. They could have had better parts and such but it's not a hobby level truck. For a "toy" from Walmart, this thing can park next to my TXT, Savage, and Mountaineer any time. Let the mods begin. Just painted mine military green. This is the 1/5 th scale big one by the way.
