That's a great thread!
The best mods I've done are flipping the rear link over which helped the under-belly clearance a ton, then I turned the tires around, cut 'em, and added lead shot to the fronts for weight.

Go to ups.com or dhl.com or fedex.com or usps.com and use their estimate shipping tools.. Should give you a relative price. As I recall, shipping to canada is more expensive, and takes FAR longer to ship because its gotta get checked out by 2 different customs services, 2 different shipping companies (IE UPS and UPS Canada), etc etc.

RE: ORCRC's Nylint 1/18 ($40 WalMart) Stock Crawler Comp
What types of aftermarket batteries can i use? Can i use the crappy charger that came with it to charge the aftermarkets? I will get a nicer charger sometime, just not now.
If i swap in an ESC, will that give me proportional throttle and steering (But i will have to swap in a steering servo). Not to mention i will be able to use a fulsize remote! The remote on this thing is tiny!
And last. Can someone explain spring clipping. I assume it would give more flex, but is it at the cost of ground clearance? Also, how do you do it? Just clip the last coil or 2 off and let it be?
Thanks

RE: ORCRC's Nylint 1/18 ($40 WalMart) Stock Crawler Comp
Hi, nylint people.. I have been wanting for a while, but my WW didn't have any. I did go to another WW today, and found just 1. Both WW have rc cars and trucks stacked to the ceilings. Her's my question about the freq (radio) All other rc's were labeld
How do I know which frequency this orange jeep (1/6) is on? Most all the other rc's there say 49 or 27 mgz. I want to use my AM 27 mhz transmitter and want to know if it is on 27 and also if the channel can be changed to 1-6? I did read entire post, and see that is 4 different channels, but that doesn't tell me the freq or band? Thanks for input.
Editied for 1/18 scale, no 1/18's at either wally world [:@]

I dont know the answer, but I'd try Google'ing it. I do know that if you get the 27mhz truck you can change the crystals to 1-6 no problem. However if you get the 49mhz, I'm not sure. I'm assuming that whatever crystal you put in any reciever will make it respond to that channel, but then again you have problems with proprietary parts. Like you can't use JR recievers with Futbaba Radios and such..
Sounds like a trial and error deal to me, and if all else fails you could always mod it and put your own reciever (hobby level) in it..

Yep, that would be the fix (to put a rx into it) I hope it is 27 mhz, but no telling whether the crystal can be changed. I will open the box maybe if they'll let me. I may just get it anyways, but thought perhaps it was like all those other ones, it seemed that they were either 27 or 49 mhz. Still no menmtion of a particular channel though, thanks for response.
