Hey I'm new to this forum (first post). This thread and links in it caused me to drag my buddy out to Wal*Mart today and buy ourselfs each a Jeep crawler. I was just wondering, I have a T-Maxx I used to drive all the time and have a Piranha quick charger for the starter pack. Is it ok to charge my little trucks battery with this? It'd be really nice to wait 15-20 mins instead of 4 hours for each charge. Was just wondering how feasable this is. Thanks

Hey welcome suzuki, If you have the 1/18 with the 7.2 AA pack then yes you can charge it with a DIGITAL piranha, but if it is the regular piranha then no the rate is too high, I think it is around 4.5 amps and may overheat the small pack. That is a great idea and I use my peak charger that can charge at 1 amp.

I know those little RC rock crawlers a cool, but they are a waste of money. I wenyt though 2 of them in a 3 week period, and I wasnt even pushin'em hard. The first one I got only lasted about 4 hours, and the rear axle broke. Took it back, got another one, that one lasted about 3 weeks, and then it ***** the bed. Supposedly, either the front or rear shifting mechanism messed up, because the front axle was in low range and the rear was in high range. So I took it back and got a refund. I dont know if anyone else is having different or the same problems I had, but I would say stay away from it, because it is a cheap POS made of plastic. Save yer money and get a real RC like the Traxxas.

What's the matter, did you find something not intelligent about my post? If so, please feel free to speak, or should I say type, what's on your mind.
After examining your post, Im assuming you are referring to the Traxxus. Well, since Im apparently not a RC guru like yourself, and probly got the terminology wrong, what I meant was, dont waste your money on a poorly made plastic RC vehicle from Walmart. Instead cough up the bucks and buy good RC that's not made of plastic.
Is that more intelligent? If not, please respond because your sarcasm has me extremely curious.

The two you got, are they the big ones or the small ones? If they are the bigger ones, be extremely carfull with them. The two I had broke in no time.

they are are not crap, ive rolled mine down the stairs with no damage. they are good crawlers with a couple mods. I got mine on clearance for $22.00 at walmart about a week ago.

Well, maybe you got lucky with a good one then. Which one do you have the big one or the small one? Maybe the small ones are ok, but the two bigger ones I had were cheap crap, and I wasnt even close to being too rough with them. The first one pooped out after playing with it for about 3 hours after I got it home, and the second one about 4 days after bringing it home.

if you have problems with the power being lost then what i did was open up both gearboxes
on mine there is a complicated gear system that fits on the motor it is white black and orange. Take the top peice off(orange) and open it up in mine there were wear marks on the flat peice that the metal part connects 2 i simple flipped it over and now it works
