I always liked the scale look of my TLT crawler... I built a 18" WB clod and decided to make a scale jeep using the clod axles because of there simplicity...
NEW PICS AT BOTTOM OF THREAD AND SOME MUDDING PICS
SPECS
-The chassis is made of a street sign. The chassis length is 12" and the chassis height is 3.25".
-The wheelbase is 12"
-Total length is 17"
-Total width is 13"
-Body is a HPI Jeep Rubicon
-Tires are 2.2 Swamp Dogs
-Shocks are GPM 4" with no bottom retainer
-19T Orion motors
Here are a few pics... what do you think? I will get some more pics as soon as I paint the body...

ive seen people using bodies off of radio shack or models or toys r us cars, just look for a very scale body and cut the body posts off of the truck, alot of guys use 1:10 metal model bodies, escpecially the land rover series, i can get some pics of them if you want, you could even try finding one of the old hardtop tamiya jeep bodies, they arent rare but to get one oyu will have to pay around 100 bucks

Yeah... well I have all my electronics in a tupperware container on top of the chassis... so now the body sits at a good height... I may just use velcro....

the motors are Orion 19t... It was extremely EASY to clean because the mud didnt have enough time to really dry...

That Jeep is awesome, I really like it. I have one question though, does that have 2 link suspension? I figured any hardcore crawler would go 4 link. I know you are going for the scale look but I didn't think real Jeeps had 2 link suspension.

nope... it is 4 link suspension...
i have made a new chassis now tho... it isnt scale... but it looks awesome... it is made / built into a "RC Solutions" roll cage for a t-maxx ... I got the maxx rollcage because it had the good base plate for the electronics and stuff... i will post a new thread when it is completely built...
