Parts needed for a clod build. Off the top of my head and prices vary.

Clod axles - $80 - 150
Motors - $45
JB to lock em - $5
Adjustable motor mounts - $ 30 ish (this is optional but nice to have)
Links - $30 ish or build your own for around $10
VS chassis - $65 [8D] other chassis are around the same
ESC cheapest is the MOPED - $35
TQ3 - $25 - $45 (cheapest out there that can be moded for rear steer)
Batteries - $30ish
Servo - Tower Pro MG 995 or 445 - around $25
Tires - Moabs xls or 40s you can find a set for around $50 but will probably cost more
Rims - $50 ish.
Shocks - You can find a set for around $20
8t pinion - ??
Body - $25 - $45
Paint - ??
probably need adapters to go from 12mm to 14mm (or ??) - not sure but around $50
Wideners will be around $30 - $50 not necessary but nice to have depending on the rims you choose.

this is just off the top of my head and some items are optional. I've chosen to go with some of less expensive stuff that I know about as well.

Not really. It can be built for a lot less.
I made my TLT for around $300-350.

You might even be able to do it cheaper if you are a good horse trader and able to make items on your own. And ifyou have some electronics sitting around allready.

if you really want to go cheap look at the stick, it eliminates the need for links and suspension, and overall a really cool truck. My tlt wi\hcih is pretty nice with an sw2 chassis cost me around 350. But i already had most the stuff!

i did this for two reasons, the first reason was because it allowed the shocks to move more freely through its travel. Dont know if you have seen traxxas shocks but both sides dont have those ball joints. The second reason was it gets the center of gravity down just a little bit. Not much but every little ounce helps.
Can i help you with any more ?'s. I will be glad to try and help you out!!

Yes they are t-maxx shocks. They are 4 inches in length, i also use the team losi yellow springs, except for the rear left spring i use a traxxas black spring to help reduce torque twist.

I think i might have some more pics. Let me look in the files of rc enthusiasts!!

I found one, but it really isnt much different than my other one. I was in such a hurry to get it built i guess i just forgot to take pics.
Any specific pics you were looking for. I could probably snap a few specific pics!
