PTI Goliath
Hey thinking of either getting a Wheely King, High Lift or the PTI Goliath rock crawler but I can't find a lot of info on the PTI. Anyone here build one? Are they good? Fun?
Thanks,

A high lift is more of a scale vehicle while a WK (I have one) is a great 2.2 comp crawler. Check out the PTI Goliath section on www.rccrawler.com for some great feedback on it

RE: PTI Goliath
Just to give a positive for the PTI..... Check out the pics.
I built it to be more of a scale crawler, so it does have its limitations. Sure, out of the box it needs a lot of help but with some mods it can be a decent truck, it depends on how much work you want to do. I don't have a WK, so I can't compare, but have 2 clod crawlers, 2 TXT crawlers, a TLT crawler, and the PTI, all modified... They all have their strong and weak points.
My PTI is still a fun truck, and I use it.....
Bottom line is... You are going to have to modify any truck "out of the box" It just depends on what you are looking for, and how much work you plan to put into it....

You should really try to lower the hummer body and just cut it some more. That is a great looking PTI though... one of the best I have seen. What wheels are those?

Thanks Lumpmister....
I cut the body some since the side pic, so the wheels fit in better. I haven't lowered the body, but a set of shorter posts would do the trick. The wheels are a set of narrowed Tamiya King Cab wheels leftover from "a few" years ago. The rock rings are reducing washers drilled for effect, cheap but functional.....

RE: PTI Goliath
But that's after a lot of mods, if it were me, I'd go Wheely King. Very cheaply the Wheely King can be made into a good crawler, not to mention, they are popular now, and they are still gaining popularity. My vote goes to the WK by far. Oh, yea and the high lift is really expensive, to me anyway, that's why I'd stay away from it...but it depends on if you want a scale truck or a comp crawler...

The PTI was my first crawler, it started the crawler bug..... So I guess it was my gateway crawler!!!!! Gotta start somewhere..... Whatever you choose to buy have fun with it....
Buy it....Modify it....Hit the rocks with it.....
