Yes, I agree, it is a little high. But does perform quite well, as long as you dont need to turn a corner...

Waiting for some new MOAB 40 series wheels and tyres to arrive.
Then can sort out the ride height.

Everything is on the highest (tallest) setting, so, there is plenty of scope to lower it down.

I priced up the esc on its own..... blimey they are expensive.

This looks like it has been used for bashing - plenty of scrapes etc.

But will be looked after now - this was my ultimate goal for a crawler.

Makes the HSP look even more like a bargain.

PS, you really have to admire the engineering that has gone in to the Spider.
You can get alloy axle tubes and gearbox units - but again, best part of the price of the HSP....

Yeh Do like that Spider.
Here is my fix for the broken r/h rear diff.
To long to wait for parts and I think it will do it again (not biffy enough) IT should this diff side but, we'll see.
1st Pic the ali.,plate.
2nd Bolted in and super glued befor plate and after plate install.
3rd Out side glued with Loctite 3805 ali. weld.
Allcracks and splits gouged with Dremel small ball tip, then super glued First.

What guage thickness did you use for the plate?
And wonder why they do not add these as standard?

Drew Hi and every one'
This is home made plate 1.5mm ali. scrap from sign makers shop.Took about 1/2 hour to fab,with hand tools, I did use a small hobbie band saw that I have for modeling, rough cutting then filed and drilled it.

More time finding that size than makeing it,also got some 3mm for servo mount witch I'am doing now will post pic later.

As for the makers they have not seen this problem maybe //??????.

That looks really good, how is it with rear wheel steering?

Still waiting for my parts to arrive - ordered the standard servo plate and servo for the rear along with the gearbox cases, but alas, no sign of them...

Hi Drew

The four wheel steering is total magic, it turns inside it's own length,well almost all I did was to "Y" lead it so it works front and rear all the time,after Boxing Day I'll try a 3 channel rx and some mixing like crabing.

I know it made the spider a lot better. It was terrible at turning.

I have a 3 channel tx for that, it allows just rear, just front, both, and opposite - strange when it goes diagonal....

The HSP is not that bad I dont think, but do want to add rear wheel steering.

Been really busy spraying body shells - photos to come soon.

May well be adding a new body style to the HSP Jeep soon.

Had real fun painting this -

I think the jeep was brill value and looks a neat lil car - i paid 200 pounds for my AX-10 kit , 30 for a servo , 85 for a reciver / controler and then 80 for a novak rooster esc + motor = grand total of 400 pounds , Jeep seems pretty cool value to me - Considering investing in one .... anychance you could tell me where you got yours ?

Finally had the HSP out on real rocks this weekend, with a fellow HSP owner - leachie19840

Had a good time and the HSP's did us proud.
We were at a local off-road venue, that is hoping to open to crawlers very soon.

We struggled with a lot of sandstone rocks, as they had just been placed there, they were quite covered in loose sand and mud.
Also the organisers had left big gaps between the rocks, so the crawlers fell in a little too often.
They are going to modify things as we need, so should be pretty good by summer.
Not knowing what crawlers are, they did a good job, but it does need a lot more work.

As I said, the HSP did a really good solid job and created quite a lot of interest, especially when the RTR price was quoted.

Also took along my Scorpion, but it was too small for the rock sizes and spent most of its time upside down in cravasses....

Hello, I am of the Reunion island and speaking normally about French. Sorry for mistake..
I also possess a HSP for 15 days and I had a probleme with a cogwheel in gearbox Front AND rear.
probleme with the cogwheel # H98012.: The universal joint turns in the cogwheel which was used.
Meplats in the cogwheel has eaten by the universal joint.
Your cogswheel are plastic or in metal?

Sorry to hear you have had this problem.

The gears are a hard nylon, I think.

I bought my crawler hsp to him. He (Benjamin) can maybe supply you parts.
For your information, at the moment, the only met problem is : damaged parts 2 cogwheel in gearbox Front AND rear- ref : H98012 gear50T .

I got mine from Goodiesmart - they have a little slow with parts, but it was still brand new then, so can excuse them.

Have some parts on order (upgrades), so will see how quick these are.
