The more mah, the longer the battery will last. You have three options to choose from; 2/3A cells, sub C cells, and lipo cells. 2/3A cells are in the 1100 - 1500 mah range but are very small, small enough to be placed on the axle which is great as far as weight distribution goes. Sub C cells are in the 3000-5000 mah range but are big and heavy, the might not fit anywhere but on top of your frame which is where you dont want a lot of weight. Lipo cells are anywhere from 1000 mah to 10000 mah and you can get them in a variety of sizes. They are small and lightweight but you need a Lipo capable charger to charge them and an ESC with a cut-off voltage as to not over disharge them.

would you be able to rn a 7-cell (8.4v)? I've got two 7-cell 4000mah nimh. that would last a long time. probably like an hour.

I just use electrical tape for holding batteries where I need them. Works fine for me, and its very adjustable.
