RE: Interested in building a Crawler
Its all about what you want, but since you asked you'll need everything..lol
I think you would have better luck buying used since you dont know or atleast sound like you know anything about it. Atleast start with a ood find and build to what you want.
good luck.

To buy things individually will actually cost you more than buying a kit. In the other thread, you said your budget is 100-200 (dollars, I assume) which isn't much.
Stormer Hobbies has an RTR crawler that's decent for $249 (not including shipping) and they say they specialize in international shipping. I've done business with these guys alot.

Can't go wrong with an AX10 now that they designed a comp regulations rig. Good for people to test the waters with too. The Venom Creeper is not a bad choice either to get your feet wet.
Once you know what you're doing the only 3 things left usually from the original build is your running gear, axles, and tranny lol.

i was thinking about going with the honcho

If your looking at getting an AX/SCX, look at the ARTR or kit, it is actually a better deal in the long run than the RTR which comes with some pretty crappy electronics... [:'(] As for the SCX, I think a 35>27 would be fine, its a "scale trail truck" so you will want some fun wheelspeed for it, but still going to have the torque you need for climbing [8D]

For the casual crawler type person, the Honcho is a hoot. 35T motor, 3S lipo. You can still use it for rock crawling, but it also has a respectable top speed; fun for bashing around in the yard.
