There are lots of ways to lock a gear differential.

You can use:

JB Weld (my personal favorite)
Silly Putty (removable)
Epoxy
Solder
Welding
Super glue
Or just about anything else you can throw into a differential

If it's a ball differential:

Screws
JB Weld
Epoxy (not as good as JB Weld as it can shatter)

Basically all you need to do is fill it with one of the above and you are good to go.

It's the stock rustler differential... if it's even a diff.... how do you lock it though, open the case and just put some JB weld in it?

I locked the diff on my rustler. All you have to do is take the diff out of the tranny and then open the diff up. Then you pour in the JB weld and put the diff back together. I turned my diff a few times to make sure the JB weld was mixed good. All you do after that is let it sit for a day to dry and then it is locked. Hope this helps.:D:D:D

Make sure if there is oil or grease on the gears to clean them before using JB Weld. If you don't you risk the JB Weld not bonding to the gears or comming apart in the future.

ok, then what? go with some T/e maxx a-arms and get another diff for the front?

do emaxx arms fit the rusty?
If so why would you want to put them on theres no need for 2 shocks on each arm

what is a spool?

also, what motor sould I use and should I use a MG servo? I have an Orion 27Tx1 i can install... also what gearing? I used some nails to lock the diff

i spool is basically a "welded diff" It is one piece and made of metal. Both of the wheels turn same direction at the same time no matter what.
