RE: how does it turn???
On a crawler they are generally attached to the axel in one way or another.
On my TLT they sit on top of the axle, on TXT's they sit in front of the axle (or behind on the rear). With E-Maxx's it depends on what has been done to it. It could be mounted on the chassis or if solid axles have been made for it then they would ride on top of or in front of the axle. |
RE: how does it turn???
This is off of a clod crawler (Gecko II chassis)
http://www.themirrorpool.com/example.jpg The steering is highlighted in green (ignore the bumpers three horizontal bars). There's a crossbar that goes from one steering hub to the other, and a shorter one that connects to the servo. The servo is mounted vertically. The steering kit is from RC Guy and also comes with a rear setup as well as lockout bar. |
RE: how does it turn???
ah k well im not planning on using a clod base.... ummm hmmmm trying to figure out how to do this in my crawler design..... need hubs, a bulkhead that can accept the maxx diff and allows me to mount the servo, and control the steering.... any ideas?

RE: how does it turn???
The gearcase/driveline is probably the most critical part. You can always build a chassis around it.
I've just built my clod crawler and was fortunate enough to be able to buy an aftermarket chassis. So I didn't have to figure much out since it was already built. Sorry I can't be more helpful. |
RE: how does it turn???
i already have a drive line planned out thanks to someone else on this site, but not sure about the steering still,,,, thats the only part i still need to figure out.....
