Tamiya XC chassis?
Can someone shed some light with this chassis?
I like the Pajero as it looks real, I'm not into rock crawling however I was wondering how this car would go as a fast offroader? And even on road? I don't expect it to handle like a touring car, but can it still be fun to drive fast? I understand it has a 3 speed manual gearbox too? Can gears be shifted while moving? If so, can they be downshifted while moving? Can it go through some water? The other one I was looking at was the F-350 High Lift, but I think it's quite expensive + it just does't look as good Thanks guys ;) PS. What other brands/cars are there similar to the XC Pajero? |

RE: Tamiya XC chassis?
I probably put it into the wrong forum
It's not a rock crawler, more like a scale sized off roader |
RE: Tamiya XC chassis?
Only one XC chassis is available from Tamiya right now. It's a great fast off roader and also a very good scale crawler so you're not in the wrong forum. The XC chassis has quite a following and you will see many scale crawlers and off-roaders on this chassis. Ya, it can go through water, but you have to water proof the electronics. You'd have to do that with any car anyway. The 350 has the 3 speed gear box, the XC does not.
The current kit is the long wheel base version. It does still have the option to make it a short wheel base to fit the Pajero body. Unfortunately the Pajero body is a hot item and will be tough to find. You may have better luck with the Jeep body. http://www.tamiyausa.com/images/prod.../gallery_1.jpg http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXGMR7&P=7 Here's a build thread for it: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_46...tm.htm#4692161 FYI, this kit has been discontinued by Tamiya, if you plan to get one, get it now. Parts will still be available for a long time. Tamiya doesn'tg discontinue kits due to problems, they just have limited runs of certain kits. |

To answer some of your first couple of questions, here is the XC chassis with a different body. You can see it's been through some good stuff.
