batterys

ive notived some people running like 2/3 amp 1500 mah battery packs....how do these people get still like 30 minutes/1 hr run time....i have a 1500 nicd 6 cell stick pack and i only get like 15 minutes... i just dont see how the smaller battery packs get more run time ?
i just bought a 4200 nimh 6 cell pack so im hoping to get close to a hour now

They won't, Ok just a touch maybe from the lower weight. If you are crawling then you should get well over 30 minutes.

Regular running an rc will get 5-10 minutes with a 1500. My crawler gets over 30 minutes with a tiny 1200 mah.

Mines got a 75 turn motor and is geared low. Maybe you are simply driving faster than me? OR maybe your 1500 isn't 1500 anymore or isn't full charged.

Your rig may be a bit heavier than mine too.

Sound like that battery old or not working right. I have ran a nicd 1500 6 cell in my comp rig and I get about a hour out of it. I use nicd when just testing some protypes out on the rocks. You might need to cycle the battery. And for the 2/3 a or the 4/5 a i still get about a hour out them too. So i would look into cycle the battery. Are getting a new one.

Allso make sure noghting binding up. Check the pinion gear make sure it not to tight to the spur. Allso check the wheels or not over tighting.

The main issue is that you are using low quality, machine assembled, NICD cells. The Elite 1500 2/3 A cells are NIMH cells.

I run a 8 cell pack of 2/3 A Elite 1500's on my rig and average 40 minutes of run time running duel 65t lathe motors.

Upgrade to a pack from Holmes Hobbies ( www.holmeshobbies.com ), or www.cheapbatterypacks.com .

it depends on the vehichle, motor, and gearing. A higher turn motor with lower gearing will give you way longer run time than a lower turn motor with higher gearing. Just an example In my Mini Quake I got about 12 min run time on a 1200mah battery with stock 16t pinion. all I changed was the pinion to a 13t, and now get over 20 min on a charge....
