Looking for Info on Graupner's Mistral Sailboat
#1

The hull is ABS with all wood decking and mast measuring42" long x 8" wide x 10 1/2" tall x46" mast with a total weight of10 lbs.I can keep themast and sails stockif it falls undera 10 rater or any other class. One can also easily put an ETNZ or better yet Sailor mast and use either sail on it and it would double its performance.
The boat came complete with a "VERY" powerful 6 volt winch operated by a servo. I guess back then they can miniturized powerful winches but not servos. I have already tested the hull and it is water tight. The riggings are all original. It just needs anew set of sails, very minor gluing, and electronics for it to beocean going.
This must have a cost a lot back then as well as the winch that is in it. See pics below

I recently acquired an identical Mistral model. It is brand new, in the box but is missing the plans!
Please note that although German, it was not manufactured by Graupner. (I also know this because I own every sailboat made by Graupner between 1965 and 1975)
What kind of information do you need?
Regards,
Carlos Amato

10R rule is -
from the 10R class rules, part 3.H.1. The answer to the formula for any boat should be 10 or under, if less tan 10, as close as possible. 10Rs tended to be long, light and narrow. This is none of them.
Given the deck house, I doubt that it will have been intended as any kind of class racer, just a good looking boat intended to give plenty of pleasure sailing.
Rating = L x S x 8
where L is the certified waterline length.
S is the sum of the certified rig area given in J.2 and the
certified sail area given in K.1.
