looked quite good actually - your own design ? Well done
it looks quite well balanced and able to to handle a bit of wind too. - what's the actual length of your boat ?

Yes it is my own design, influenced by the latest VOR 70 and the Safran 60.
The chines are a little higher for more speed on upwind runs
50" (1250mm) weight 4.6kg
Ballast same as IOM
Rig: IOM "A or "B" ( in between as used)
or use Marblehead C rig

yes those chines looks good - even in IOM a lots of the newer design have these chines too and skippers who sail these boats claim it gives them more power after a tack and more drive upwind...

Two questions:
1) The VOR70 from Vela seems to be design around acantingkeel. Does someone as a fixed keel design for this boat?
2) Does someone has these drawings in CAD instead of PDF? Or is there an way to transfer a PDF in CAD (Autocad, Corel Draw, Illustrator) accurately? I would like to draw the planking line on the shadows.
Thank youfor yor time

OK, I now have an answer for both of my questions (see two post up).
1) Illustrator can open a PDF and see the vectorial info. No problem there then, at least on CS5. Good thing that they are both Adobe products! I don't know about Autocad and Corel, you will have to check.
2) Surfdabbler excellent "Volvo 70 Ericsson Build Log" thread seeded my initial confusion and... the solution. Since this built was all about a canting keel VOR70 (as the real one), I assumed that the drawings were made accordingly. But, on post #21, Surfdabbler explains his own confusion about this and conclude that the bulb and fin were designed for a fixed keel.
I guess now is the opportunity to give my thanks to him. This tread was my inspiration, my ticked into the hobby.

Plans sent. If anyone else wants the ones I have, I have uploaded them to a free file sharing website, filefactory.com. You can grab them all or just the one you want. ABN Amro I and II, Illbruck and Ericsson are there now. Here is the folder:

Here are the plans of the latest Farr designed VOR 65
Adapted of RC
Capable of 6.8knots downwind, 3.8knots upwind (determined by GPS tracker)
No need for canting keel. Keep it simple; sail it well, and she will go fast

Hello Kingplank,
Can you give me some more information from the plans you posted from the latest Farr designed VOR 65. I am very interrested in wich scale the plans are. Maybe there is some more interresting information about this?"project". i am very interrested in these plans because i wanted to build the VO65. My VO70 (team Delta lloyd) is finished a couple years ago so i wanted to build the TEAN BRUNELL Vo65. In about 2 weeks they are here in the Netherlands(stop over at Scheveningen) so I have a good Photo-opertunity.
If would be very pleased if you can help me further.
