RE: AC 12 Team NewZealand
Hey mate,
Thanks for the kind words, see what you can do with some time off work just love holidays. I have now started to paint the keel and then its a trip off to the fishing shop to get some sinkers for the buld. From what I can remembers its about 4 snapper leads in total weight.
The rig should come together pretty quick as I have some old ones floating around the shed. I must keep up with Surfbaddler and his ice VOVO.
I'm keen to get started on the TP52 only because if it works well it will become the base for me to build a full size sports boat.

things have been on the go slow for a bit, Here are some not so flash photos of the start of the radio gear installation and the carbon rudder. I will pick up my game from now on. By the way who won the AC it sure was not yachting.

OK then a bit more work on the old girl. I managed to float the boat this week just to check the weight balance of the keel bulb, I'm glad I did as she was bow up. I kept on moving the bulb forward to get the bow to come down and get the free board equal from front to back. I moved the bulb as far forward as I could and she was still bow up a little, I think the boat just has so much volume in the front half that the keel should be moved forward and that is what I did
I only moved the keel forward by 15mm and that should have the boat floating level. How this will affect the sailing side of it time will tell. Any way here are so pics, I will glass the bulb into the keel fin after a quick re float and I'm happy with how it looks. The bottom of the silver tape is the water line.

Well the keel is now finished, its now time to put the rig together from some bits that I have laying around. I will have to order some carbon mast sections from RC yachts Aust in QLD so that should only take a week.
I hope to have her out for a test sail in about two weeks to three weeks.
