cool, might be a little bit of work. but it sure is rewarding to build one urself.
but being trimaran, can you say that it's more stable than [link=http://www.twift.com/RC%20Toys%20&%20Hobby/Gemini%20600%20RC%20Catamaran%20RTS%20Kit%20(Beili ).html]Catamaran's?[/link]

YES! - this RT65 Trimaran is about 3-4 times more stable than that Cruising Catamaran model you are referring to.

i see, trimaran's 3 - 4 times stable than catamarans. so i guess it's better to sail these one's than the normal sailboats.

RT65 - "Ragnarok" versus RT65R - "Armageddon"
Sirit
The new videos are great,
it´s just a pity you didn´t cover a direct comparison of both boats on the water on video so far.
I really like the names of the boats:
The first one stands for "the fall of the old gods" of rc-multihull-design.
Thesecondprototype for the "judgement day" for the arrogant oldfashioned modelbuilders who where unwilling to really listen to me in the past.
Do you have any time schedule ready for completing the female moulds yet?
Any idea when the first production boats could be ready?
Please keep upthe excellent work you have been doing so far.
I´m looking forward to see more of you!

Hi all
The link in post 28 has the numbers reversed. It reads as "56" instead of "65".
Just open it and change the numbers and it should open properly.

Good news!
Phanchita (Sirit) has completed the selfbuildingplans of my second
RT65R design - the "Armaggedon".
From now on they can be downloaded for free from www.rcsails.com.

RE: RT65 or just another 65M trimaran
Hi all,
finally got online again. Have been busy working on the female moulds for my 65m tris, here are the first pictures. I'm preparing them for production now.
RT65 moulds
RT65R moulds
Keel and Rudder
I think the first boats off those moulds will hit the water in 3 to 4 weeks.
Free plans of the Trimarans can be downloaded at www.rcsails.com

Hi Sirit
Molds look good. Curious how you build the rudder and fin in the molds? Are you just going to put a few layers of fibreglass or carbon in the molds and fill them with epoxy?
Also, can you show the layout of the radio in the boat? What are you using for winch?
Yann
ps: i lived in bangkok when I was 13 years old for a year and half. Really enjoyed it. I learned to windsurf in Pattaya. Actually started my rc sailboat building in thailand too.

Hi Yann,
you can find some pics of the RC layout in the build log here. I use a standard servo as sail servo now. I had tried a miniature one but ran into problems, I changed it to a standard size servo (30Ncm), it is enough space for a standard servo anyway.
The appendages are build roughly the way you think, layup with the cloth and epoxy, then glueing the two halves together with epoxy as well.
@Gary
Thanks, can't wait to see it hit the water too. My MKVIII plug still need some sanding - btw have you started to build one of those little ones besides the MKVIII - I followed your build log - outstanding work
I'm working on rig plans for my RT65s and will include them to the ZIPs next week

Dear Sirit,
very good work indeed!
Have you decided about fibreglass types/weights yet?
Can´t wait to hear about weights of hulls/shells/appendages/completed boats out of these moulds.
Keep on rocking, my friend.
Ernst
PS: Also impatiently waiting to SEE first shells/hulls of course!

Cheers Sirit, no have not started on the small version yet..I was most impressed with the way your 65 tri sailed and guess I would like to see some more vid of it before I started build ....looking forward to getting onto it though..the joy of having half the area to sand/fair /paint prep..should be a walk in the park..
Interesting tooling gelcoat colour on your moulds BTW, never seen this before.
Cheers......Gary

RE: RT65 or just another 65M trimaran
Dear Gary,
I have been working on the first hulls, tomorrow I will see the results. Can't wait to get the glass boats hit the water, it was much fun with the prototypes. I will shoot some new videos then.
The tooling gel is french origin from 'nord composites'

Dear Sirit,
as said in my mail to you - looking very promising!
These two little "Cuties" can be a TOP SELLER worldwide!
Please tell us about the achieved weights of each single shell and what glass type/weigths you are using.
And how do you plan to glue the shells together?
Please keep up this incredible buildspeed and -quality.
I really LOVE what you are doing!

RE: RT65 or just another 65M trimaran
Dear Idealist,
I have been using two layers of 125g/sqm glass, the weights of the gel coated floats are 135gram each, without gelcoat they are 90g each, the main hull is 10grams heavier.
I think about simply glueing the two halves together with epoxy.
Today I will start the build with setting the keel box I have laminated over the keel already
