I've heard of people using it before. I think it's supposed to be good stuff but I'm no sail whiz.[:o]

Hi Pecos,

As I'm into Power Kites also, I read that they use this fabric and Mylar to.

Using some logic, the fabric for competition kites is "almost" the same as we use in our sails

Still, I could be wrong

Hi Luis,

Icarex works fine, just follow the instructions in the sailmaking notes regarding how to line up the material towards the lee side.

I have a bunch of old spinakers lying around (in bags), the crispy stuff is the lightest (and the noisiest) and that's what I use for my sailmaking experiments (hence the wrinkles in my sails).

When you get some, also get some 6-8 mm double-sided tape to stick the panels together.

Regards, Jan.

Don't use the Icarex with silicon coating, the tape won't hold (duh) and you need to sew the sailpanels with the risk of puckers...
