Help on rigging the sails
Hi
I am new here. I received a blackstar R/C yacht from a friend. The body is in like new shape, but the sails need to be mounted to the boat. Does anyone have some pictures of how the rigging is set up. or instruction manuals for it? Thank you for your time. Sam [:@][:o] |
RE: Help on rigging the sails
Hi Sam,
Do you have a pic of the boat, or a manufacturers link? Regards, Jan. |

Thanks Sam |
RE: Help on rigging the sails
Sam, I'm not even sure who makes that model boat. However, any good pictures you can find of rigging on OTHER boats should be a big help to you. Basically all boats rig about the same. For example, look at the thread of posts on the Seawind Build. SNJ did great job with photographing every step. Or use pictures from rigging of any other boat you can find that serve. The variations are usually slight and you should be able to sort it out pretty easily. jim

RE: Help on rigging the sails
I've found that if you do a search on something like Google for sailboat manuals there are sites that have .pdf files that can be downloaded and viewed/printed to show rigging.
Be patient and read all the tips and resources from the search results and you will find how to do just about anything you can think of. A lot of the European sites are good too. Just use Babelfish to tranlate. I'm finding that the act of sailing is basic, it's the "art" that takes study and refinement. :D |
RE: Help on rigging the sails
Thanks I will try your suggestions.
Here are the pictures. I think I know where some of the rigging goes, but I don't know what I would use to connect them. Also I am not sure how to connect up the servo. If anyone has a manual that shows how, and can scan them and send them to me I would appreciate it. Thank you for your time. Gurrera - The 4 black "eyes" on the bow and stern and the one on port and starboard are where your stays attach to hold the mast errect. The two elevated black rings near the forward and rear part of the boat are going to be your fairleads for controlling the booms, I believe.
