cap-sizing???

Hows it going guys

Finally over the 2 week holidays Ive had I just got the time to take my northwind for a sail.

My Wind meter said that it was 12-15 knots gusting to 18, I really didn't want to take her out, but
I just had to.
So anyways of i go, Launch her in the water. First big guest and it rounds up and nearly cap-sizes.
Also I was on a shye (yeah i know, No spinnaker) and the tip of the boom was in the water, And it
was nose diving like hell.
But it was a hell Lotta fun. Also i gained more trust in my boat and learned its boundary's (more than i thought)

So here my question- Can you cap-size these things, Or do they just round up.

Sorry got no pic's[:@]

RE: cap-sizing???

they will broach. As in flop on their sides, and then right themselves once the gust is gone.

Atwinda is right, this has happened to me sevral times. Just make sure you DRY the inside of the hull each time. I use a small fan blowing into the hatch cover. I give it at
least 2 HRs.
