Just a few pictures of my all fiberglass Royal 310Q that I made a few years back.I started to make the longer nose like the R model for this plane. What you see here is the plug on which a fiberglass mold will be made. I have a long ways to go but it should be a fun project.

Thanks Ram-bro for the complement.I guess I should have explain a little better on how I got a complete fiberglass kit.I brought Royal plans on ebay around four years ago.I built a complete wood kit from those plans.I then made fiberglass molds from these wood plugs. The fiberglass plane that I assembled from these molds turned out pretty good. The complete plane, with electric motors,Robart retracts,Batteries etc, would weight around 13 pounds.I had to add a lot of weight into the short nose to balance the aircraft,on which I did not like.I aways liked the looks of the R verson with the longer nose. With the longer nose ,balance would be a lot better. So last week I got the old girl out,and started to redo the fuseloge. I want to make a complete carbon fiber model if possible. The Royal plans show two typs of wings one is the sport model or the scale model.I would like to try the scale model for looks. Anyway Im glad you like the pictures.

Im located in South Dakota,I own a small modeling business, and just got done doing a smaller Beechcraft Baron in the 1/2 scale section of rc universe.I ready don,t know if there would be enought interest in a 310R kit.The top flite 310 came out a few years back so I never advertised my fiberglass 310 Q. untell later

Got a little more done on the 310 R project,After checking the pictures on the internet,I found out that the top of the cadin is way more rounded then the royal plans show. Also the rear windrow top is really a sloped up with a smooth contour from the top of the roof.Pictures show the now new top coutour. The right side door is scriped in.The Doors will be made to open. This will be the three doors, one is the pilot door, rear storage door, and the nose storage door.

perfect timing! Marutaka / Royal cesna 310 built, with air retracts (scale gear doors), two new o.s. .40 SF engines, servo's, scale flaps.
Have to gut it! the plywood for the bell cranks was barely tacked in place with CA, the flap hinges ahve to be re-done and some sheeting in the center of the wing is weak.
I bought it from a guy who bought it to sell it.
I use to fly with the builder and he is a great guy. I just have my own way of doing things and want 3/4 ounce glass cloth with finishinbg resin instead of ultra cote.
Look at the one picture with my hand where there is a little rod, it appears that each aileron has one on each end as for "scale hinging" only two pins one on each end.
Also I noticed this was the early royal cessna 310, I plan on buying the updated scale plans and modifying this bird.
Poor thing isn't even maidened and I'm reconstructing it!
Forgot to mention the leading edge was never cut away to accomodate for big fuel tanks, this is shown on newer plans.
I only paid $220 for mine! not selling.

Boy I wish I could have found a 310 like yours I-Fly-Any-And-All!Thats one nice looking bird! You really got a good deal with the cost of ony $220 dollars.I paid that alone for just the retracts.Thats going to be a fun build, and people say that the royal 310 flys great.I will watch your progress on your 310 as you build it. I got the pilot door and rear baggage door cut out the last two days.Next will be the nose storage door to cut out, then to detail the body with panel lines etc. untell later.

I forgot to mention,I did have robart retracts on the 310 but no flaps.Flaps woud be nice since this plane comes in pretty hot.

A few more shots of the detail on the front nose on the 310R.The front baggage movable door is installed. The front nose housing screws, and detail is scribed in. It is hard to see because of the white primer. Also the side nose reforce plates are installed. The body looks more like a jet than a prop plane.Hope you enjoy the pictures.Dennis

I never did fly the orginal 310q model, I-Fly-Any-And-All I did find my old notes on the weight of the model with all of the electrics and batteries installed,It had a total weight of ten and a half pounds. I had flew smaller airplanes, which I had to always to fight to get them to track right before take off, This 310 tracked like straight as a arrow!you could set the front wheel were you wanted it,and just apply the throttle and it wanted to take off straight a bullet! I had two axie motors with speed controls, and it had amazing power.Just running it on the runway was fun.I never did fly it as I was not used to flying a large twin.I wanted someone else to first fly it for me.II still have the complete plane on which I might sell on ebay later on.If it was painted and detailed it would be a beautifull airplane!Untell later,Dennis

Got a few pictures of the detail being added to the fusolage, what I could see there are more side plates on both the left and right sides of the fusolage. One picture show how much smaller the scale wing saddle will be when using the scale wing plan.
