Finishing a BUSA SPAD 13
So I have been working on this thing off and on for 3 years in between deployments and moving and I thought that I would share some of the final steps with any one who cared to stop by and look in. Hopefully if I am doing something totally wrong some one will chime in and stop me before it is to late.
So with that here are some pictures taken of the first few steps as I start painting.

Behr latex paint. Wasn't sure about how much paint would be needed. I have been thinning it down 50% to eliminate brush strokes and I am afraid that I bought enough for about a hundred planes. should have just got the sample sizes and not the quarts. Live and learn.

a few spots here and there. after looking closely at the wwI planes in boeings museum of flight I am pretty sure these areas would have shown some of the first wear. I have heard that you should do your best not to have raised edges and brush strokes but almost every plane there had both. so I kind of just went with what I got unless it was an obvious blead under. I wish i had some clear when I started to seal the edges better. doing it lightly with the same color I was going to put on next was not as effective as I would have liked. oh well. Every plane I make is an experiment and a chance to try something new. if only I could do this full time I think i might get the hang of it.
