RE: NEW BUSA 1/3rd Scale Fokker Triplane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe the DRI kit was $635. I know it was in the $600+ range. I should have taken a pic of the sign he had posted below it. There was no mention of the Albi price. Dave did mention that the 1st production DRI kit was being asembled now in preperation of releasing the kit. That is alot of plane for the $$$, I would exp[ect to see this show up on their site very soon.
I didn't really get anymore pics of the planes than what I posted. It was like Grand Central Station around there. I do have to say I was very disappointed with the number of scale and designer planes entered this year. I only took a few pics of a GTM Fokker DVII as that was the only plane that really imterested me.
Later!!

How did that GTM DVII look? One of the more difficult aspects of releasing a kit is authoring the assembly manual. It can be tough to explain how to do things for the masses sometimes. I am sure you would have to build the model along with writing the manual at the same time. Also the manual is one of the last aspects of the kit before release. If I remember right, that was the thing that held up the release of the 1/4 DVII. I could only imagine what the Albatros would be like.

The GTM DVII was a nice plane and I am sure it is going to place well in the scale comp. I don't want to flood this thread with pics of it
I can imagine writing the manuals is a PITA to say the least.

Hey Anthony,
If I remember correctly, the DR-1 had a intro price of 489.99. I might have been seeing things so I checked with one of
guys I rode up with and he agrees. Unless he was seeing things too.
I asked Dave Lewis about it and he said that the price would be good for a while, like until the end of the year.

Hi Mike,
I looked at so many price tags Saturday it doesn't surprise me I mixed them up. That is definetly a good price for such a kit.

Just if anyone was wondering.......... I did get to fly the DR1 today and it was amazing!!! Wonderful flying airplane!! Unfortunately I didn't get my hands on the albatross but it was equally amazing in the air!! Was trying to take photos most of the time. I think there may be a couple of these in the family hangar very soon!!

Just a few more pics from the big day of maiden flights. Sorry if I included anyone who didn't want to be in the photos. But my dad needs to be famous for his 15 mins for the DR1. Laugh!! They were really both amazing flyers!!

Mark Enderby flew the DR-1 and I flew the Albatros. I was not happy with the prop I selected for the Albatros, it really seemed to lug the motor down. I could not make another flight with a different prop, well Ill just say motor issues. It will fly it again as soon as I make a few changes. It flew and landed with no real issues. I also got my hands on the DR-1, all I can say is "OUTSTANDING"
Balsa Usa would like to thank to the Fond du lac club for allowing us to use thier field. It is the nicest field any of us will ever see.

Those are great videos, looks great.
What size prop did you use on the DR1, and what's the all up weight?
They both look like great fliers.
