Default Where to buy cheap braided rigging cables

HiProctor sells some great rigging and control cable but at tweny dollars a 25 foot roll is pricey and I need a ton of the stuff. I live in colorado so local fishing equipment out of the question. Any online shops I can order braided flexiable .034 in steel cables for my 1/3 pup.Thankstom

No 1/8 diameter way too big and heavy. I need cable dia. less than 1/16 or 0.034 inches.

The "wire rope" from McMaster-Carr seems to be about the same price (about 80 cents per foot):

To bad the fishing stuff is not available. That is what I used on my 1/3 pup, and worked fine.
You might even think of checking Mick Reeves site for flying and landing wires for your pup, they are flat, and are scale.

Look for control line suppliers. I used to buy 1000' bulk line material for about $35. THis stuff can be found. .012 and .018 are the popular sizes. Try Brodak models, or kitting it together or maybe look up Windy Urtnowski. Just a thought.

Just look in the yellow pages for "wire rope" in your area.  There will probably be a lot of suppliers.  It is commonly called aircraft cable.  What you want is a 7X7 (flexible) or a 7X19 (extra flexible) wire rope.  You can get it in galvanized steel (cheapest) or stainless (most expensive).  You can also pick up thimbles and sleeves as well as the tool (Nicopress) for installing sleves on your wires.  3/64 is probably the closest to the size you want but it is terribly hard to find.  1/32 will work as well but also hard to find.  1/16 is pretty available as well as fairly cheap.  Good luck.

What Vertical Grimace said. I still have what is left over of a spool that I used. Along with crimp fishing lure sleeves.

Balsa USA carries what you are looking for.     http://shop.balsausa.com/category_s/141.htm

The stuff shown on this page is very high quality and reliable if your cables are to be used for structural or controls.  There are cheaper ways to make cabling, but not as easy and worry-free as this.

As I said in an earlier post, you can probably find a wire rope supplier that can provide these products locally and maybe a little cheaper.

Comes in clear or black nylon coated 100' rolls for about $10. They also have the barrel crimps. Click on the "select from chart" link for the different sizes.

Try this link

Not sure if this is what your looking for, but there are other similar products on the market coated or uncoated.
