Thanks for the great photo report Lee [8D]
When I look at all those beautiful models and flying site, then I dream that I must bring a visit some year at the event.

Great Photos of a Great Event.
Lee, you have once again reaffirmed your coveted "Ace" status of all shutterbugs with theshotof thewheeldeparting Barry's SiemensSchukert (sp?) during it's maiden sortie.
As test pilots go, Jim did a great job of bringing it home, all things considered.
Right after the wheel came off, he could have justturned to Barry and said: "seems to fly O.K., why don't you fly it for a bit?"

So you're saying that me eventually getting 4 out of 5 of these is just going to back-fire on me?

LOL! That was a good challenge!......... I told you it was work to keep Art entertained especially when he has nothing to fly...[:'(]
(the key is Greg is is fail sooo miserably that he dosent come back....like in the case with me and Art.....I couldnt even land on my wheels!...only on the top wing of my tripe!)
Couple of weeks ago we did the same exercise and all I remember is after 8-9 attemps ... someone that looked like Art was walking away with his arms straight up in the air ...mumbling...... ''Theres no hope.......
.''
I havent seen him since! Voila!
Please dont tell Art I dont want him to find out that my mishaps had a meaning........

It looks like the 3 of you were photographed while watching one of my less than perfect landings, during Art's ''Greg's gonna do 5 Perfect Landings in a Row'' challenge!

Great photos Lee! As usual you do a great job of telling the story too. And thanks for getting some of my EIV!
I've finished editing and tweaking, so here are a few more for ODP 2012.

Martin Justis's 1/4 Albatros DVa

Doug Blankeman needs to check his 6!

I didn't think he had enough to worry about, so me and Photoshop turned the heat up a bit here.

Kieth Zimmerly's 1/2 scale N11

Another good one of Andy Marone's 1/3 Tripe

The weathering on Jim's SSWWDIII was awesome!
More to come.....

I think Art was confused and thought he was at work.

This nice 1922 Farman (something or other) received a special dispensation to join the WW1 and pre-war fliers.

Right after this I was dancing to get out of the way.

Barry Vogel's really sharp SSWDIII prepares for it's flight with Jim Suchy on the sticks.

Oh the Humanity!!!!! Stop the presses!
The Siemens was built by Barry Vogel.
I WISH it was mine.[img][/img]

To continue:

Barry's SSWDIII lost a wheel during the flight.

Jim did a great job on the landing all things considered. I think he just likes standing planes on their nose. Thankfully only minor damage. Prop wasn't even broken.

Sam's N17

Paul Westrich's 1/3 Camel. Wish I'd got some in-flight shots.

Andy's Tripe. Awesome!

Multiple exposure of Andy rolling his Tripe.

Doug Blakeman's 1/3 Pup. This may have been the flight that Billy Thompson got some stick time with his old friend.

Keith Zimmerly's 1/3 scale DeHavilland DH-4. It really looked great!

Nice view of Jim Suchy's Siemens. He paints his Lozenge camo btw.
That's about it. Only a fraction of the aircraft in attendance. I'll be honest, I typically don't bother to take photos unless the lighting is favorable, so I miss some great looking aircraft sometimes.
Thanks for looking!

Really outstanding photos of some really outstanding models! Sadly, Ohio might as well be on the other side of the world for...wait a second...it IS on the other side of the world!
BTW, I love he multiple exposure roll.
