Thank's paco. I was mistaken on the shipped date. It would seem that I was referring to there writing it as our way of writing the date. And it's not the same. The actual ship date was June 5. But either way it has shipped.

Good for you Robert. I don't think that's too expensive if it gives you hours and hours of building pleasure and then the added bonus of flying enjoyment! What is the difference of people spending thousands of dollars for a vacation that may only last a week...not that that's bad but it's the same type of pleasure. And you're right who knows what tomorrow will bring...

That is an excellent way to look at it VJ! Now I don't feel so bad about buying a Stinson kit for $200.00. It could give me a couple years or more of building enjoyment!!! [X(][:@]

I have been doing this hobby for quite sometime. And everything I have done has always been somewhat small and manageable, financially and physically. But as I was getting towards the end of the small Pitts build I could not find anything that really jumped at me. I have wanted to build a large scale plane for quite sometime but have always thought the cost was just to ridiculous. And I still do, but, about a month ago I was talking with a friend about a large scale he was dreaming about and in the process I realized I'm myself am not getting any younger and who knows what tomorrow will bring. So I took my own advice and decided it was time to build my Mac Daddy plane and the Pitts is a sweet machine to do it with. Afterwards it will be back to reality. But for now I'm living the dream!!! Woo Hoo!

This is too weird....I have been having identical thoughts and we must have been looking at the same videos at the same time ! I ALMOST pulled the trigger on the same Pitts, lovely lovely plane and sorely tempted.... in the end it was down to this and one other...........pulled the trigger almost the same time you started this thread...on a Barth WACO 33%.... dissimilar airplanes but the road to get their thinking wise was identical....I wish you all the best and will follow with interest and a bit of 'what might have been'.

You kidin me? I have seen the things you do and the stuff you get. It will definitely add some scale sound to the Pitts. And yes, I am very happy.

OMG! Look at what came today. This thing is unreal. I was looking at a Lycoming 360 last week so I can say when Valach says they make them like the real thing they were not kidding. A piece of art. Now to get a stand built.

You got that right. When I started looking for an engine I was running every name I could think of through YouTube. And somewhere in there the Valach popped in. When I played that video it was over as far as what I wanted. But then I started thinking how would I pay for it, was it really worth it, am I nuts, you know-the usual thoughts. But a few days later I was playing the videos and my oldest son said he would buy it for me for Fathers day. That was it, all I could think about was how sweet it would be. And if he had not, I still would have.

They probably couldn't believe that huge box was for a model airplane
You will be like a little kid at Christmas when it does finally arrive.
Later going flying!!

As I'm driving past my house to drop my grand daughter off at her place. guess what I see. A big, big, box sitting on the front porch. And believe it or not I did not even think of it being the plane for a few minutes, after all the last I heard it was still at custom's. Any how, here it is on my front porch then in my room and then open. But that is as far as it wil get for a couple days.

Well I guess I lied. I went ahead and unpacked. Holy cow is this some nice stuff. The instructions are in German so I think my first task is to get a translation book and go through the manual and translate it.
