Wanted: 3-3/4" Williams Bros. Vintage Wheels
Help!
Anyone who has a pair of 3-3/4" Williams brothers Vintage Wheels (#13100) New or used), and is willing to sell them; I'll pay list price, plus all shipping, for them.
Used, painted, dirty, etc., is okay as long as they are not broken, and are salvagable.

Strange. I just order a pair of these last week from the William's Brother's web site and they are in the mail and should be here by Wednesday (along with a 1/8 scale Le Rhone kit).
Is it a case of GOTTA HAVE EM NOW!!!! ?

I'd really like to know if you do receive them.
Everywhere I inquire, these wheels have been on backorder for up to, and in some cases; longer than 6 months!
Even more frustrating, is trying to get an Email answer from Williams Brothers.
All I asked them for, was a simple "yes or no" answer, as to whether these wheels were in stock.
They've got really nice products, but their customer service and common courtesy sucks!

Bob, I spoke to one of the Williams Brothers today and he assured me that my 1/8 scale Le Rhone and 3 3/4 Vintange wheels are on their way. He also confirmed that they have a whole "box" of the 3 3/4" Vintage wheels in stock. Try giving them another call.

Thanks for the information.
I'll place an order today for the wheels.
I don't understand why Williams Brothers isn't filling their backorders though.
Well, maybe I do!
Perhaps creating a demand and then selling direct at list price, is more appealing to them than selling at distributor or dealer cost!

I just ordered the Smooth COntour 3 3/4. I know he had those in stock since I asked him for a measurement, and he went and pulled a wheel for me.

None of the local shops or distributors in my area have them, nor do the large mail order outlets.
If you look at the Tower Hobbies website; virtually all sizes of the Vintage wheels are "on order" and have been, for a long time.
If Williams Brothers does have these wheels in stock, it sure looks like they are holding back on filling backorders, so that they can maximize their own direct sales.
I ordered a set from them today, so it will be interesting to see what happens!

The smooth contour are the same way, all of the sizes are back ordered. I did web searchs for the wheels hoping they would show up on somebody's hobby shop website, no luck. I finally got somebody to answer the phone and he said I should have them in 3 days. Give them a call, I bet they have them.

Anyone looking for 3-3/4" Williams brothers Vintage wheels can obtain them from Balsa USA, who has a good supply of them (plus other sizes). At better prices too!
I found this out at the Toledo Show.
Forget about asking questions at Williams Brothers directly, or ordering from them; you aren't likely to receive an honest answer, or the wheels!
"Nice products -absolutely lousy customer service!"

The first set of smooth contour wheels never made it to me. He, Carlos, has sent another set to me, this time 3day UPS. He gave me the tracking number and they are now in Philly PA. I can't complain too much about that. I asked why they are backordered all over creation. He told me that his employees left. They had been there 16 plus years and many of them just left with no explanation....Take it for what you will....they might have left due to no paychecks, who knows.

Well, it took an entire month but I finally have my 3 3/4" Vintage wheels and the 1/8 scale Le Rhone (which I'm planning to "bump up" to 1/6 scale) from Williams' Brothers. After weeks of no luck, the guy on the phone finally shipped the order via UPS last Friday. And got here (Southern Cal) on Monday. It was an awfully long wait but now I can get on with the business of figuring out the layout of the engine to best show off the dummy engine.
