Looks great BigStew. Good job on the cockpit too. Let us know how she flies.

I agree, it does look great. I like your duster, too. Is it functional? Is there a hopper inside?

Thanks. I had a guy offer to buy it at the field today but I declined of course. Yes the hopper is functional. I will try to get some pictures of it in action when I get a chance to fly it. The cockpit is my favorite part because I did it all from scratch. I almost gave up on it because it took so much time to get it how I wanted it but I really paid on in the end.

Thanks dead eye you did a great job and it really made it easier on me because my time is very limited while I am in flight training. I havent had a chance to mess with it since my last post but I hope to do the maiden during the holidays while I got a little time off.

I second that, best of luck in flight school. It's got to be a blast flying one of those things. When you get around to doing a video of the airtractor maiden....I've had the best luck using Youtube.

The Navy still has t-34s for now. The NFO pipeline are the only navy commands with T-6 Texan IIs. The T-6b is currently on the assembly line and as they are completed they will slowly start to replace the rest of the t-34c's. The T-6 is a sweet ride. Max speed of 316 knots, 7 Gs max and max altitude of 31,000 ft, it as close to a jet you will ever get in a turboprop.

Big Stew as with the rest of us Best of luck in Flight school, been there and done that.

Here is a photo of my Air Tractor 502 from Hollis Calvert, www.teamduster.com, mine is the 72 inch version with a Saito 91 for power. Working on a smoke system for simulated dusting. Hope "Santa" got my short list.

How did the smoke system work out for you? Did you route it to the spray bars? I thought of doing the same on mine but I dont have any experience with smoke systems.

Still working on the way to disperse. Most likely I will reroute the exhaust using a flex pie to under the fuse. This way I can get multiple runs of smoke. Project will be on hold for awhile. Just sold our home and will be moving to Tallahassee in Feb.

You are gonna love the Hornet. Set your standards high and keep your dreams alive.

You are soon to be the best the Navy has to offer.

Hi JimO,,, good to see the AT is still alive and kickin'. mine is too. i'm curious to see what added weight it will be on the 72" version.(same as mine)

i'm running a Saito 100... what is your CG on it? i need to run a bit of down trim for straight and level flight. so she isn't the cleanest with the elevator causing some drag.
also do you know what your overall weight is?

anyway, i'm curious to see what you do!

bigstew, i'm doing some flight training too, but in GA level. i'm having a blast doing it and hope to go RV one day soon afterwards!!!

Lately these crop dusters have been intriguing to me, i like to know what is the good conversion type of model that could be converted into crop duster, Ag wagon nicely. I didn't said easily as i know conversions could be tedious too at times. I like scratch building and would be nice to do conversion part this way. Since this will my first type for this sort of conversion i would like to try on with small 40sz-50sz models..You advises would be appreciated.
