Does anyone have any experience with the RV4 .40 size kit from Great PLanes? Can it take a .60 with any chance of longevity? I need a project for a "needy" OS 61Fx and I like strengthening kits to allow a wider range of performance...... any experieces I can draw from out there?

Well I am putting a mds .78 or an os max .61 fsr . The cowl is quite roomy . I think it will fit . The plan is to put elevator and rudder servos way back in the tail and use the battery to do final balance . I am also going to sheet and glass the plane . I have put a asp 1.08 in a sig Sky Bolt 60 size kit with very good results . With the servos in the tail it should ballance with no added weight . The vertical performance will be out standing .
Good luck

Thanks for the input Ron... I am comparing that kit to the VMAR RV4 and will pick the one I like best.. They are both good looking products but the VMAR may be a better value. Both should be able to use the 61

My bud's got one..
add some extra bracing at the center of the wing.. He had an MDS 48 with pitt muffler, and it just barely fit. Muffler that is, one corner wore a hole though the bottom of the cowl. Other than that, yeah, lotsa room!
