Crazyryan, kinda harsh, don't you think? My EIII's also going to have its muffler hanging "down between its legs" and given that retracts are a rich man's toy (at about $250 a pop) I'd say this is a nice looking plane. It may not be Top Gun but then who cares?

Rick, muito ben! What's the RC scene in Brazil like?

Hi,

I'm Brazilian too, and I'm making a Zero Platt (scratch built) with Platt retracts and hidden OS 108 and a Small Ziroli Jug with G-38 and robart retracts, but it's important to say how everything is difficult here in Brazil, and when we want to order something from the U.S. we have to pay about 30% of S&H and 60% of taxes.

About the plane, I think that's a Prince fiberglass kit from www.princeairmodel.com (Brazilian Factory).

I think we are "model brothers" too, so let's help the enthusiasts.

Ooooh, looks cool...I'd be interested in hearing what kit it is as well, I've always thought a Tucano or PC-9 type aircraft would be cool but the only ones I found are the ARF model and a slope soarer. Well, and now the ones at that link, thanks Mike. Looks like they'r ARFs too, no? Ah well.

One of these days maybe I can track down some good Tucano or PC-9 plans and give scratch building a go.

ricktg,

Nice looking plane. I have no idea why people make comments like that. Some people have major psychological problems and need to trample on other people when they feel safe behind a keyboard. Cool that guys are flying in Brazil. Not cool about the shipping and taxes. I'm thinking of a CAmodels Widebody 40, and will have to suffer the rates from Argentina.

Hey crazyryan, the voices in your head are right. Go ahead and jump!!!

Got to fly a Tucano in the late 80's when I came to the Embraer factory in San Jose Dos Campos to pick up a Brasilia... Loved the airplane, the country and the people - your model brought back some great memories.... Thanks!

AND it looks great!! [sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbup.gif]

Cheers!

The Brasilia is a great airplane - well designed, fast, economical and state of the art in the '80s.... Flew it for about 3500 hours - the only whining I can do is that it's a turboprop, which makes it noisy enough so that you need to wear headsets ("David Clark head clamps" ) most of the day when flying it... Reckon the EMB-145 Jungle Jet has a more hospitable environment

My flight in the Tucano was a riot - Flew about an hour with a factory test pilot, including aerobatics, simulated strafing runs and traffic patterns... Before flight, I had to be fitted for a flight suit and parachute. The largest sizes they had were bright orange and about three sizes too small, requiring me to walk around hunched over to keep from talking in soprano - not exactly the TopGun image I had hoped to project as I strode confidently to the flight line

Also had to get checked out on the use of the ejection seat - I spoke no Portugese, and the seat trainer/tech spoke no English, so the sales rep translated between us for the forty minutes it took to do the briefing. Fortunately, I didn't need to punch out on the flight, but thinking back on it, I wonder if all I needed to know had been correctly translated....

Flying the airplane kinda reminded me of a Bonanza on steroids... Very responsive handling, tremendous visibliity and power up the wazoo..

Cheers!

Hello guys sorry for the delay...

CrazyRyan i respect your opinion.. Im working on the plane for more detailed stuff..

This EMB 312 Tucano is a Juniaer kit (www.juniaer.com.br) and it has the most realistic and beautiful flight compared to all others kits i've seen.

Here's its specs:

-Robart Pneumatic Retracts, mechanical Flaps.
-5 Standard servos, 1 high torque servo (Rudder) and a micro servo (retracts)
-OS Engine Surpass 120 with pump

I use a Futaba 9Cap.

Well, I'm close to finish my Tucano T-27 from Juniaer. I found some issues in their design, but not too bad.
Regarding the muffler, The Tucano has a very small cowl and after spending couple hundreds trying to get something to fit inside with a Saito-100, coudn't do it, so mine will also have the muffler coming outside[]
Here's some pics, including the piranha MAA-1 missile I built in fiberglass and retract B&D tricicle kit for $85 at tower.

My solution to the muffler problem was simple: fit the muffler (in my case two stainless steel mugs brazed together with inlet at one end and exhaust exiting the fuz. just forward of wing root. My engine is a 30cc gas engine. Air retracts fitted, and air whistlers (?) to siimulate turbo whine. Performance is awsome!

Fala Rick!

I bought also a T-27 from Juniaer and just received it. I did a search and found your message... hopefully you still access this...

I live here in Michigan (USA). I got the Academia color scheme. The plane looks really cool!

Can you tell me what gear are you using? Like: motor, servos, landing gear, pull-pull?

Muito obrigado! Eu não escrevi em Português pois não sei se os moderators da pagina vão gostar....
Abraços. Se quiser, me mande um PM e eu te mando meu email.
